Decent IC

Tried the small cup today of the durian ice cream (supposed to be famous).

Verdict - not bad, but I had expected more of durian flavour. Also expected it to be more creamy.

$3 for a 75ml small cup (densely packed)

Can't Lose Option

After lunch at Liang Court, I was looking around and realised that there was an offer that would make a non-dessert loving person like me excited. For $4, one can get a waffle with a choice of ice cream and coffee. At some places one would not even be able to get a coffee at that price!

Down to the taste, the waffles was done fresh and hence was nice and warm with the burnt batter smell. The cookies and cream ice cream was ordinary but the coffee had a nice aroma. It is not the best stuff I have tried, but it is more than acceptable and at this price point one really cannot complain.

I Still Heart You

keke coz you are Ice Cream mah. :p

Despite the deluge of all those new gelato and ice cream parlors, Haato is still my bastion of comfort when I need my daily scoop cup of gelato.

I remember the gelato being more icy and sorbet-like in texture when they were formerly marketed as Gelato di Crema under the Pokka brand here at Liang Court. It’s now creamier, not that I’m complaining any one bit coz I’ll choose smooth and creamy gelatos over icicle ones or saccharine-sweet sorbets *eew!* anytime. I love Haato’s Strawberry Yogurt (not available at the Wheelock outlet!@?!#) so by default, this is my choice whenever I’m getting my Haato fix here at this outlet. It’s got lotsa clobbered up strawberries interspersed within the light pink gelato, so instinctively sublime. And addictive keke. I also like the Milk Tea and Rockmelon flavors with the former just tasting so like frozen teh-ping lol and the latter containing some really uber cool bits of rockmelon *duhz* blended harmoniously within the rockmelon *duhz duhz* flavored gelato base. Just the right healthful flavor to delude yourself with when you dreadfully need to lose yourself in that scoop or two of these delicious indulgence.

Due to a recent bout of Rum & Raisin addiction, I managed to wean myself from the usual flavors today. Got myself a scoop on a Cone ($3.50) @$!# again! (only coz I wanted a nice picture keke). The gelato had that fitting amount of alcohol to give me the thrill yet not too overwhelming to send me into a comatose lol. Texture was smooth and consistent with all that whole *yeah!* and little tittles of raisins nicely settled within. Talk about reliability here. :)

An ice cream brand that deserves my long allegiance is sure to worth its sugar salt. I only wish I liked the Chocolate flavors and the Durian a little more coz I’ve only heard good things about them.

Must Tries: strawberry yogurt, milk tea, green tea with red bean, rockmelon, durian *eew!*

Just like in Japan

Brought my two Japanese Friends to Liang Court Jap supermarket and came across Haato (japanese gelato)

I suggest having a taste and see how issit different from Japan.

We were giving the staff a hard time as the 3 of us tasted at least 4 flavours each haha...

My Jap friends got really excited "Brings back childhood memories" one quoted as she tasted the strawberry flavour. She went on to taste green tea, red bean and Sweet potato with honey and chestnut. "Oishi"

The other Jap friend tried Vanilla, Yuzu , Mango and Chocolate.
"better than Hagendaz neh" was her response. She is supprised that the taste is just like in Japan.

I got myself a Scoop of Durian and my friends got mango and Passionfruit respectively.. citing that fruit based gelato is more expensive in Japan, thus they rather try the fruit based flavours.

The durian gelato is really rich in durian flavour and it is just like eating cold durian. (after which my jap friend refuse to talk to me hohoho) They still cannot handle durian haha

OVerall the experience is fantastic. Will come back to try more flavour next time.

Haato anytime....

14 December 2007 : I came here because i had an appointment in the area and i was early. I found that this Haato outlet had shifted to the other side of the supermarket.

I wanted to eat lychee and mango.. but they did not have mango. So.. i decided to try 2 other flavours - rockmelon & red bean.

I enjoyed the red bean - there were pieces of red bean inside and the ice cream was milky. I like it exactly the way it was. The rockmelon was abit of a disappointment because i expected a heavier rockmelon flavour.

I will return again to try some other flavour.
