Worst service!
23 Feb 2011We planned to have our lunch there and turned out to be a disappointment and worst experience.
I know it's a lunch buffet but we have mentioned to the waiter that we preferred ala cart.
And we ordered our food, as they were serving the food, the manager came over with the buffet portion. I was kind of puzzle, so I told her we ordered ala cart not buffet.
The staff kept serving the food, even we voiced out tat we ordered ala cart.
The manager kept repeating tat this is buffet. I told her we mentioned and emphasized to one of the waiters, we are going ala cart.
Then she walked away with anger and glare, and raised her voice "I just wanna make sure!"
Really agitated about the way a restaurant manager handles matters.
Oh please it's so obvious the staff dun communicate.
The staff simply dun care and act ignorance to customer's order.
We used to love the food few years back but now really not worth it.
We won't go back to patronise anymore.

Worst experience ever.
22 Feb 2011This is a very much overdue post. I went to Hanabi about 2 months ago in december for lunch with my boyfriend and my brother. My boyfriend used to patronise the restaurant and after not visiting for about a year he decided to bring us to have a taste. He had very good experiences at Hanabi and so we were very excited to have the lunch buffet.
We arrived aobut 45 minutes before the closing time for the lunch buffet because we had an appointment before that that delayed us. What i did not expect was the sullen looks on the staff's faces. They were not at all happy to see us there, and kept stressing on the point that the buffet was ending. There was only another group of 4 finishing up lunch, other than that the restaurant was empty. I suppose they were looking forward to having an early afternoon and i'm sorry to have rained on their parade but hey, i'm a paying customer, any business is better than no business, no?
With their black faces, they ushered us to our seats and took our order. It was our first meal of the day and we ordered a whole list of things. Most tasted pretty okay, except for the mushrooms which were kind of funky. There was nothing exceptional. If not for the fact that i was hungry, i probably wouldn't have touched half of it - something just didn't taste right.
After paying the bill, i started feeling very queasy and pukey. I managed to drive back with a horrible headache. The nauseous feeling didn't go away. I tried to control my nausea but after an hour or so i ended up vomiting everything out. I haven't had to vomit in like 10 years and this was the most horrible i've ever felt. Resting after that didn't help; i had to vomit again at night.
I couldn't even drag myself to the doctor because i couldn't even move without feeling like vomiting. The next day i almost had to be carried to the doctor's because my stomach had such horrible muscle cramps. My boyfriend and my brother thankfully only got very bad migraines and slight diarrhoea the next day.
Unfortunately i was only able to file a complaint the next day. I'm not sure whether the authorities managed to find anything but Hanabi is definitely not a place i'll ever want to visit again.

Good Place for Jap food lovers
26 Jan 2011I went to Hanabi @ Bukit Timah last week, and the overall experience was quite good. I like it that Hanabi buffet is truly for the Japanese food lovers like me. They serve good quality Japanese food, and strictly Japanese food. Compared to kuishin bo, i feel that the food they serve are fresher.
Dinner buffet there is $32++. Me and my friend spent about $81 in total. Pricing wise is pretty standard for these kinda buffets. But i think there is a promotion going on now at Omgdeals.sg this week. Buffet at $28 Nett. That makes it more appealing for me to go back to eat again.
