Walking around Robertson Quay on a Saturday night, this place looked enticing. The menu has a little bit of everything - pasta, pizza, salads and more.
It was two of us, so we started off with a couple of beers. They have Kronenbourg Blanc ($14/ pint), which was delicious, but priced a little steep.
For the mains, I ordered a calzone ($23.50) which came out after about 20 minutes, and only after a couple of servers inquired why my friend had her Hannibal salad ($7) sitting in front of her for 10 minutes without being touched. Timing aside, the calzone was decent, just not 23 bucks worth. It looked huge when it came out, but under all the air and pastry, the filling was a little not filling.
Overall the meal was not bad. It does not deserved to be written off because they gave me a free second beer. Not sure if they knew this or not, or whether it was for the slightly long wait on the calzone. And the location is superb, great for people watching and a nice outdoorsy setting. But.. where it failed was in the price/ quality ratio and the half-assed service. Finally, it gets points for including the GST into the published prices and not charging a mandatory service charge.
