It is a misconception that Hard Rock Cafe is for tourists. We heard that the venerable food critic Wong Ah Yoke comes here once a month.

Decor: The iconic car-crash-on-the-awning leads to a two-storey American-styled dinner with booth seats, bar seats or wooden seats with round tables. Performances such as singing and stand-up comedy–Kumar performs every Monday 11pm–liven up the joint. The ambience is fantastic and boisterous, making the restaurant an ideal place forhanging out in big groups.

    Drinks

For alcoholic drinks, we strongly recommend the mojito ($14) which is sweeter than elsewhere, and tropical rock ($18), a sweet melon-y drink with Absolut rasperberri vodka, creme de banana, pina colada, pineapple juice and Midori melon liqueur.

For those who like their cocktails bitter, Pierre Goh enjoyed the beer mojito.

For non-alcoholic drinks, try the SARS drink,  Cecil ice tea. Concocted from freshly brewed tea with cinnamon, clove and orange, it is very refreshing. Good for pre-, mid- and post-prandial.

    Food

Real men go straight to mains and that’s why we had two appetizers. Between thehickory smoked chicken wings ($15, with a choice of one of three dips) and the chili crab dip ($15) with mantou, we prefer the latter. The mantou comes out hot, crispy and tender. Save the remaining chili crab dip for other dishes. It goes well with everything from fries to char kway tiao.

Yes, there is seafood char kway tiao ($18) at this American diner. Anything Also Eat‘s favorite dish for the night, this dish is also highly praised by Melicacy and Sg Food on Foot. We can’t say we like it as much as them. The Penang-styled CKT is al dente, chewy, and stick together while we prefer a wetter, sweeter Singapore style. We are not sure if we would pay $18 for CKT.

We find the Wagyu burger (not on the menu, ask for it!) a tad dry and prefer the hickory-smoked pulled-pork sandwich ($22, pictured below). It’s a pork of many disguises: textured like tuna and tastes like beef cheeks. There is a smoky sweet BBQ flavor which is amazingly scrumptious. We highly recommend the pork sandwich

A close relative to the pork sandwich is the hickory-smoked BBQ ribs ($32), a full rack of ribs that meat slides off the bone. Like the pork sandwich, the ribs are strongly flavored and make a satisfying meal. Recommended dish.

Another dish we sampled is the twisted mac, chicken and cheese ($26). Theingredients are imported from USA. The mac-and-cheese is lighter than elsewhere so you can finish an entire plate on your own. The chicken is especially tender. If you’re not up for a heavy meal, order this.

The Australian tenderloin ($35 for a piece of 6oz, $55 for two pieces) is, if ordinary, nicely handled and prepared.

    Desserts

All the three desserts–Apple Cobbler ($16), Mud Pie ($16) and Brownie ($18)–are very hearty and hence very satisfying, very shiok. No gu-niang (sissy) French desserts please. Our favorite is indubitably the Apple Cobbler because the tart apple contrasts beautifully with the generous scoop of Haagen Daz vanilla ice cream.

The company was great, the food is delicious and generous, the servers are hot, the atmosphere is lively. We came here twice or thrice 10 years ago and Hard Rock Cafe is still as good as we remember.

When i came back from my travel in the US, i really miss those american food, the bulky steak fries, the juicy beef pam, the saucy BBQ ribs, american food is really about heavy taste (and high-cal as well...), and that is what i like a lot.

I never know that there is such a Hard Rock Cafe in singapore, because its location is really too prohibited. it is only when i saw HR cafe in america and suddenly thought about search it for singapore that i know about its existance. It is really a surprise when i found out about this, and i hurriedly go to this cafe for a lunch.

The interior of the cafe is quite similar to those in america, the minute i stepped into it, i can sense a feeling of america. Background music is nice and the lighting is just good.

i ordered a value set: BBQ CHICKEN, SALAD, AND COKE with one starter some Mexican-style SPRING ROLL. Everything taste great, especially the spring roll, got a mixed feeling of mexican and asian. the chicken meat is very tender but sauce not so enough.

I hadn't been here in a few years ... went there after dinner tonight and had some drinks and the potato skins.

Glad to see that some classics (like the pulled pork sandwich) are still at a very reasonable $20++ (it was $10 in 1990 when I used to go there after school!).

The band Energy is not *quite* the band I thought I remember from douglas oliverio's days ..? the interior is also beginning to show its age, but still charming.

Anyway, all in good fun and i'll be back another day to try the food again after so long. It wasn't packed tonight on a public holiday evening.

The service is, as was before , "love all, serve all".

They open pretty late (1am?) so great place to get a late night burger (they all look good in the menu).

    Must tries: pulled pork sandwich!

Brought my wife and my in laws to try this american style dinning place. Located right behing Toy R us and too bad they dont really like it. As they a true Chinese dinning food an old fashion i should said.

It's a sunday and the is pax with american army and family group. So its noisy and there is Rock Music. It was a sunday and there is not live music. As i asked one of the stuff. Price is quite normal for dinning but only the portion is Huge. Ok American Style, but it very enjoying and great to bring Family members to enjoy. Love it.The Ambience is quite of small for a well known restuarant. But the service staff they are great, not rude and very polite and get things in a speedy way. I like it. At less u will feel comfortable in there places.

Ok my in Laws, i order for them the Mixed Combo (beef, chic & prawn) Fajitas for them to share. My wife she ordered the Honey Citrus Grilled Chicken Salad and i orderd the beef brisket. Ok the fajitas is good and it serve in Hot Plate, with tortillas, lettuce and Chili Bean with 3 type of sauce. But for the Main items is too full of the spices and make my in law uncomfortable and they have to drink lots of water. (As they told, its spicy in a pepper way...Oh ok??)

For my Wife's Salad...OMG It's huge, but taste is good as its has a sweet and orange taste but the chicken is dried and tough. I should said its bad for the chicken. My piece of advice ladies if you trying this. I suggest take that as your main course. It's a huge portion.

Ok my beef brisket is good not that bad, not tough and easily slice them. But i just wonder why Americans love their food in a very dried way ??. So i have ask for the BBQ sauce to go with it. The fries is good as usual i'm a fries lover.

Overall from everyone its not bad.

I would recommend this area for birthday celebration, corporate function.

    Cheers Mates

Yes u read it right! A 180g aussie wagyu steak n mashed potatoes... a clam chowder soup... a tea or coffee or soft drink...and a scoop of haagen dazs ice cream all @ $15 nett!!... aha beat that!!!

HRC is famous for their memorabilia such as guitars and their cult following of its merchandise such as shot glasses ....However It has always surprise me why HRC Spore didn't rockz as much as its counterparts in other parts of the world... esp when Sporeans r crazed in visiting HRCs wherever they travel that even overseas tour guides are alwaz puzzled as to y a stop at HRC is a must for Spore tours! Haha...

Anyway back to this incredibly crazy definitely value-for-$$$ deal! For the month of February.. there's a $15 nett lunch deal that's totally worth it!

To start there's e clam soup that's reminds me of minestrone with clams... Nothing wow about it though i would have prefer a creamy clam chowder instead..To end u do get a scoop of get this! haagen dazs chocolate ice cream!! I'm not too sure abt the flexibility on choice of ice cream flavours since i like choc ice cream but i tot this is quite a good deal since haagen daz ice cream aint cheap..

You have a total of 3 choice for mains (1) a 180g aussie wagyu steak on a bed of mashed potatoes with salad on e side (2) squid ink pasta with prawns aglio olio style topped with salmon caviar n (3) ocean trout.. erm i dun like fish so tat explains the brief description on (3). ha! Anyway we all had e steaks coz we r carnivores...

The portion is decent n the cut is thick enough (sorry i really don't fancy thin cuts eg lawry's except for shabu shabu) so that's good for me.. Aussie wagyu are alright n wat was served was pretty decent... The meat is juicy n robust although i lament that mine's a tad overcooked (i don't have the best of luck with Spore steaks i realised!!! damn!) but it definitely live up to the price tag.. the mashed is quite yummy n buttery so i likey...

Overall this is really a cheap meal esp with a wagyu involved... i like the ambience of HRC.. it's fun it's cool it's hip n i remember i had great fun the last time coz there was a party for Obama's presidential win and i'm pretty busy between getting hammered on the free flow of alcohol and trying to wave my USA flag while sticking USA tattoos all over ourselves haha..

Let's revive the charm of HRC and going for the set lunch is a great start!

    Must tries: wagyu steak

    1. Jeffrey Soh Thanks for Tips....looks good for me since only S$15 for set lunch.

Brought my kid, J to Hard Rock Cafe

    for Christmas Eve Lunch today

Had to censor his face to protect his privacy.

The restaurant was filled with little caucasian kids

    who were there for lunch

There was a happy, warm and welcoming atmosphere

J felt safe and I feel tall for the first time

    Heh heh..

Was served by Tang Lin today

She was friendly and very patient

    with our VIP, Mr. J

who was very shy with girls and

trying to be a troublesome kid

Much thanks to her, she managed to coax him

to finally order Kids Fish & Chips

There was also this cute kids' menu for him

    to doodle and colour on

And for myself - SANTA BABY

    The season's promotion - 3 course set

    Home Made Creamy Pumpkin Soup

    (set)

Tasty like how I would make it

    Saltiness just right

You may also find bits of pumpkin in the soup

with an inviting orange colour soup

I would sprinkle some parsley on it

    Cecil Iced Tea

    $4.50

    Clean-tasting tea

    with touch of orange flavour

My guess is - black tea plus bottled-fresh orange

Clean to the palette, refreshing and fruity

    Sprite

    (kids' set)

Comes in a cute, durable and colourful plastic cup

to prevent crazy kids from knocking it over

Kids Fish N Chips (Kids Set)

    $10.00

I didn't steal from his plate

    but he enjoyed it thoroughly

as I teach him how to use a fork and knife

    in a proper gentlemanly manner

    He finished everything without complains

Maybe I should eat that sometime soon..

US Turkey Stuffed with Mushroom Fillings (set)

    $25.00

The berry jam turkey is delicious,

    well-marinated and perfectly sliced

If you like IKEA meatballs, this is what you'll enjoy

At first I thought the little ball was a scone

but it was actually a turkey/mushroom meatball

    Lovely lovely meal..

    especially with my favourite arugula

which totally completes a perfect dish for me

I swear its painfully tedious teaching a kid

how to use fork and knife

    especially when he's been using chopsticks all his life;

worse when he kept complaining about

    the weight of the silverware

Maybe HRC could get children plastic culteries

However, I was pleasantly surprised when Tang Lin

offered to cut his Fish into bite-size

but I declined "No! Let him learn!"

I'm pretty sure I would be the kinda parents

who let my children learn about life the hard way

Maybe I won't even want kids..

He was overjoyed when the host gave him

a blue balloon, but the greedy boy

    wanted another white one

after seeing the next table's kid having 5 balloons

    Thats when I stepped in,

"Confucius says, Greed is No Good"

But thank God, the staff pampered him with a white one

before he could even think of pulling the

    "roll-on-the-floor" tantrum stunt

It didn't take Grace long to realise

repeat-difficult-customer, Mr. Leong is in da house

    She immediately approached our table

and introduces herself our little VIP

who was too shy to look her in the eyes

Passion Cheese Cake with Cranberry Sauce

    (set)

Delicious fresh little slice of cake

    yes fresh, thats key

    Coffee/Tea

    (set)

Holy Wombat this is really great value-for-money

There's no chance for me to squander my dough

    Anyway the coffee is "brewed"

TOTAL DAMAGE: $46.50 for 2 pax

I'm a Hard Rock kid. A visit to Hard Rock was a mandatory monthly affair for the family where we'd bond over great sharing-portioned American food. To date, Hard Rock still remains the preferred family-gathering destination when any 2 of us 3 siblings manage to meet up at some corner of the world. So, when my brother joined me in Singapore recently, a trip to Hard Rock was called for.

Call us boring but over the past 2 decades, our drink orders have not changed much. I'd have the super thick and creamy (second only after billy bombers) Chocolate Milkshake made with premium Haagen Daaz ice cream and my brother would have the unlimited-refills Home Made Ice Lemon Tea. Unless you're ordering alcohol, these drinks should be top on your drinks-priority list.

The usual starters of Cheese Nachos and Heavy Metal Buffalo Wings made their usual debut on the table. And the right way to eat both? With your hands! Start with the nachos and make sure the chip you're holding has cheddar, chilli, salsa, beans and some sour cream on it. Shove the whole thing in your mouth, chomp down and wait to go "mmmmm". The nachos here are served with huge amounts of topping and warmed up sufficiently to ensure that the cheese is melted and a string of cheese follows every time you pull a chip out. Next, the buffalo wings. Use the knife to smear blue cheese sauce over 50% of the surface of the wing and suck on the chicken for just a split second before you bite into its juicy meat. This way, you get just the right amount of sauce in your mouth to coat the piece of chicken you've just bitten off. The heavy metal sauce can get a little spicy for those not used to the taste of buffalo wings, but trust me - settle for nothing less, the wimpier sauce just isn't as thick or tasty. And to finish off your starters, you lick your fingers and savor every last bit of those amazing sauces.

For mains this time, my brother chose the signature Twisted Mac n Chese with Chicken. I loved the twisted macaroni used here as the hollow tube allows for some of the cheese to hide within the macaroni itself while the "welding" of 2 normal sized macaronis together to form a "twisted macaroni" allows you to deliver more pasta to your mouth with each forkful, making for more satisfying bites. I loved that the cheese here is of the perfect thickness, allowing you to enjoy the viscous cheesy feel without making you want to barf it all up halfway through the dish. The chicken served was just a nice, grilled piece of chicken breast fillet though - not much to shout about.

I was feline' like some chicken tonight myself so settled for the Chicken Fajitas. Honestly, there was way too much filling and way too few fajitas skins. Even after squeezing as much sour cream, guacamole, salsa, chicken and onions into each of the 4 fajita skins as it could ever possibly hold, I probably had enough of everything left to make at least 3 more fajitas. The chicken and onions were awesomely juicy, homemade guacamole was smooth and salsa was just tangy enough - good fajitas. High on taste and generous in quantity, this is one dish value-for-money and perfect for sharing.

Other mains of Fish & Chips and Grilled Samon Fillet were tasty as usual but didn't quite entice me as much that day.

A great meal, but a minor disappointment? I was too full from what we had ordered that I had no space for and totally forgot to order desserts! But that's alright, I know I'll be back again soon. Anyone wants to come along? :)

By the way, Hard Rock is having set meals at $10++ on weekdays so if you're a Hard Rock fan and you're in the area, do drop by on my behalf!

I was there not too long ago with my girlfriend. they had the best service that i have ever experienced at Hard Rock. We ate a salad and nachos for starters. Pork and a baconcheese burger for our main course and i must say it was kinda expensive but well it is hard rock cafe so what can we expect. The nachos was nice but well I must say they put to much cheese on it for my taste. The nachos would of been so much better if they would of just cut it to half though. Their burgers are magnificent, I must say that they really know how to make burgers. they also have the cleanest toilet that i have seen at a restaurant, its like mine at home.

Went to HRC just yesterday to celebrate my friend's birthday. We arrived about 7pm. Ordered NZ pepper steak, salmon, waguru(or something like that) steak and miso cod fish for 5 people, thinking that the portion should be enough.

The steak and salmon was okay. But quite disappointed that the portions were not very big. The miso cod fish was damn nice! soft and very tasty! No smell either. The worst of all is the waguru steak which was hard to chew. Their mash potato was fantastic though!

We ordered two sets (20++ each) which was the waguru steak and miso cod fish and DBS 1-for-1 offer for the remaining 2. The set comes with mushroom soup(very normal)and brownie with icecream (which was okay also.)

Overall, the band was good! Very good atmosphere. Food can be better but i'm not complaining for the price. They have 4 birthday boys/girls that day.. No. 1 place for birthday celebration it seems.

Will be back for the atmosphere!
