Hogs Bar Restaurant brands itself as a bar for motorcycle lovers, where guests get to ogle motorcycles owned by other patrons while enjoying some in-house western food and wine. This is a very friendly bikers' and sports bar to connect with people over good food and drinks, play pool or chat about bikes, sports, tattoos, hot babes and cood dudes.

Full Hogs Bar & Restaurant review here: http://ivanteh-runningman.blogspot.sg/2014/10/hogs-bar-restaurant.html

Styled as a bar for motorcycle lovers / bikers, Hogs Bar & Restaurant derives their name 'Hogs', from the affectionate nickname for the Harley Davidson motorcycle. Hogs Bar & Restaurant also doubles as a sports bar of sorts, and offers a good range of craft beers and wine, alongside a limited menu of food, in a charming, restored colonial bungalow.

The ample parking area at Hogs Bar & Restaurant allows bikers to showcase their motorcycles, while the restored colonial bungalow facade lends an air of elegance. Choose to relax at the chill al-fresco beer garden which gets cooling night breeze, or sit indoors, where the multiple televisions, and large projector, screens live sporting events, usually soccer matches. Great atmosphere for sports fans, plus, they even have a pool / snooker table!

The service provided by staff at Hogs Bar & Restaurant is inconsistent at times. Usually, they are friendly and welcoming, quick to take and fulfill orders. But dirty tables are cleared slowly. I find that staff are very stretched during peak periods, especially when Hogs Bar & Restaurant is packed during a popular sporting event, and staff are overwhelmed with orders. Service at such times tend to be slow, with forgotten or confused orders, incorrect billing, with diners sometimes being ignored. Terrible. Go when it's not too crowded.

I struggle with the food at Hogs Bar & Restaurant. Portions are large, and reasonably priced, but the problem I have is the very limited menu, with few options. Quality can be inconsistent as well, and I got burnt food on more than 1 occasion. But I like their good range of craft beers. The menu is expanded on weekends and public holidays, so I recommend avoiding weekdays when it's quiet.

Despite the name, Beer Fuller's Organic Honey Dew (SGD $14) does not contain honeydew melon juice. This 100% organic light golden English beer is brewed with malt, hops, and honey, giving it a gentle sweetness, with a slight bitterness. Texture is smooth, refreshing, and very drinkable, great for pairing with fried food!

Beer Badger Tanglefoot (SGD $13) is a bright golden ale with a smooth, balanced taste of malt, a sharp but not unplesant bitterness, and a crisp finish. Legend has it the beer got is name when the head brewer drank several tankards and "fell on" the name of the beer.

The Deep Fried Chicken Wings (SGD $13) were above average in taste, with a crisp, spiced batter that was flavourful. The wings themselves were rather meaty, bordering moist and dry, with a total of 4 complete chicken wings, or 8 drumettes and winglets. However, I did have 1 chicken piece that had burnt batter.

Hogs Bar Restaurant ('Hogs Bar') is located on the eye catching Colonial design building in Joo Chiat Road. To be exact, it is just opposite the Joo Chiat Community Center. While many F&B establishments trying to make their mark here, it was to no avail. However, this location seems to be tailored-made for Hogs Bar.

Once your enter the Hogs Bar ground, you will be greeted with their beer garden, with large LED TV tune in the sports channel or live EPL matches. If you prefer air-conditioned room, go inside the building which have huge projected screens, pool table and bar to keep you occupied. It is also suitable for you to host an event here.

For this tasting, I brought my Chef friend M, as my Little Devil is on Vegetarian Detox for this couple of weeks. We started with Deep Fried Chicken Wings ($13). Each serving consist of three pairs of mid-wings and drumlets. The wings are well seasoned and well coated with bread crumbs. Crispy on the outside, yet juicy and succulent inside. In comparison, it is similar to McWings, but bigger in size.

Hogs Beef Burger ($18.50) follow next. The burger was served with thick cut fries and salad. The beef patty was tasty, flavourful and cooked to medium, where it's still pink in the middle. The melted cheese and caramelised onions covered the patty nicely and the bread holds the burger nicely and soak up the meat jus. The fries are crispy and good, while the lightly-dressed salad provide a nice balance to the meal.

It seems to be the trend nowadays to serve something on wooden plank. Spanish Iberico Ham Flat Bread ($16) is served this way here. Other than the ham, the toppings consist of cheese, olive, cherry tomatoes, salad, and shallots. The texture is crispy, fresh and very flavourful. It will be better if the size is slightly bigger or more iberico ham though (just my wish).

Beer Lovers will love this place. Hogs Bar carry more than 30 brands of beers and they offer a very competitive price. For more details on this, check out their Facebook Page.

Overall, Hogs Bar Restaurant new menu provide a good gastropub meal. It is delicious and unpretentious. I dropped by for one of the EPL match on weekend, the big screen and sound system are excellent. Give this place a try and let me know what you think. Cheers!!

Was walking around KATONG at 10pm on a weekday night craving for aglio olio with my other half and couldn't manage to find any in the other restaurants bcz they were alr closed and past their last orders. Stumbled upon this shop that we always walk pass on our way back to his place and we saw they served food at this hour and went in with the hopes of bar food. WE WERE TOTALLY WRONG!!!!!!! the food here is CRAZY good. Five star standard really!!! Ordered the aglio olio with bacon and mushrooms for myself and it was SUPER GENEROUS with lots of super tender bacon and mushrooms mmhmm and the spaghetti noodles were cooked al dante! Mac and Cheese was beyond good. LIKE EXCELLENT HOMAGAWD THE BEST MAC AND CHEESE I've tasted in my entire life HAHAHAHA. they use generous amounts of european cheese so much that you can taste the difference. It's not just the usual cheddar. SO SO SO GOOD. Mushroom soup was SPECTACULAR without being too jelat. Just the right texture and amount of mI shrooms without being too heavy on the palette or stomach. LOVE LOVE LOVE! Will be back to try the all day breakfast and truffle fries!!!!!

Great place for hangover food

Ocean Kingdom Seafood Restaurant is no more (as is the Cider Pit). In it's place, Hog's Bar - "a biker- and non-biker-friendly" bar and restaurant that serves what you'd expect bikers would eat, plus lattes. This, then, is a great place for hangover food until 3pm - here is the bacon Benedict ($14), with poached eggs and nicely toasted muffins. The American Breakfast ($20) is a monstrous plate of pancake, homemade chicken nuggets, potato hash, bacon steak (tastes like bak kwa) and three scrambled eggs, while the salty (but good) homemade corned beef and potato hash ($16) could use some slices of toast. There are ten TV screens showing sports, and a pool table, if you need to stretch a little. The menu switches to one with a big selection of burgers after 3pm.
