Went to Ice Cold Beer on a Friday night with friends. They do not entertain reservations on a Friday night, so we have to try our luck in getting a table/seat that day.
Sure enough, the place was packed, so we went to the second level and found a standing place for all 5 of us.
They have happy hours till 9pm. 2 bottles of Budweiser cost only $12. After happy hours, all the bottled beers are $12 and above.
We ordered 4 bottles of Budweiser, 1 long island ice tea, 1 salami pizza and large chicken wings before the 9pm, and 2 Hoegarden, 1 Corona, 1 long island ice tea and 1 Ice Cold Beer pizza after the happy hours.
I would say that the drinks are pricey after 9pm, so do order early.
Their pizzas are good! The crust is thin and crispy and savory. This is a must-try item if you like thin crust pizzas.
Ice Cold Beer pizza is not bad. The prawns are fresh and "crunchy". But this pizza is not as savory as the salami pizza.
As for the chicken wings, they are well marinated and juicy. The skin is very crispy and meat is tender. It has the prawn paste taste, we guessed it is marinated with prawn paste. This goes very well with the beers!
The ambience is not bad. On level 2, they have tables and stools area, sofas area, standing area and 2 pool tables. I suggest that if you are not playing pool, stay away from the standing area near the pool table. It gets quite irritating to give way to people playing pool and sometimes you might get "poked" by their cue sticks.
They uses rope and bucket to fetch drinks which they don't have on the level 2 bar.
General crowd is between age 25-45 with a mix of ex-pats.
Service is good. They regularly go around to clear empty bottles and plates. But due to the large crowd, it may take a while (~20mins) for the food to be served. But since the food is good, it's worth the wait.
Must tries: Chicken wings, pizzas
