I stayed in Hougang and patronize this restaurant about 6-8 times a year.
The reason, it's convenient. There are better and finer Japanese food restaurants else where, but for daily staple, this is acceptable and better than some hawker Japanese food I could think of.
Price wise, it's reasonable.
My sister tried the salmon with rice and she claimed that the salmon is fresh, better than the branch in Orchard.
As for me, I've tried most of the items on their menu (other than the raw sushi) over the last five years. Their price had been quite expensive (not value for money) then it drop and now it's on the average. The salmons that comes along with some of the main are fresh. I especially like their california maki. Usually I ordered them (so that it's not so dry) instead of taking it from the conveyor belt which may have been dryer due to expose to the air for too long.
Dinner time over the weekends are usually crowded. Services are average when it's crowded, but the waitresses responded when you managed to catch their attention.
