great jap buffet

i'd had to compare irodori and ikoi. both are comparable in terms of quality of food offered. come prepared with the food you want to order so you can spend yout time eating or chatting whilst waiting for the order. overall great place to be in. might seem a little cramp at the place but given that its here since ever, its already maximise the capacity to fit max # of pax

Great place for sashimi fix!

Finally here after many failed attempts! True to majority of the reviews this is recommended if you're looking for an affordable place for your sashimi and sushi fix. I love the quaint setting of this Japanese restaurant, and the service was good.

p/s: Ikoi over Irodori for now ;)

Worth your money for excellent quality

Ignore the other reviews about slow service.

Apparently Singaporeans don't appreciate waiting for good food. They don't seem to understand well that at Ikoi, you get your money's worth of quality of food. They take a while to prepare it so that it reaches your table HOT and FRESHLY COOKED.

I cannot emphasize enough about how i always bring friends here to eat, especially if they want good sashimi for a worthy price. Everything here is so good. The food is amazing, and the staff are all very polite (even the new trainees)! They will do their best to explain certain things to you if you don't know what it is when you're ordering.

Either way, I always enjoy myself here and I eat to my fullest. It's all about knowing how to work around ala-carte bufets (not just sit there and complain about slow service). After all, if you don't know how to wait for good things in life, don't wait.

Sashimi Galore

A good place to go if you can eat lots of sashimi, otherwise its not worth the money.

The other food was mostly too salty, tempura was nothing remarkable and the soba and udon noodles were overcooked.

Also didn't like the fact that drinks and dessert were chargeable. Isn't the cost of an "ala carte buffet" supposed to include all items on the menu?
