| Il Fiore
Met my ex-colleague cum good friend earlier for lunch at Il Fiore. Wanted somewhere not as crowded as food centre nor food court so decided to find some discreet corners.
We reached the place at 1215 and were quickly seated even though the place is about 60% filled. Menu with italian cuisine were layed on the table.
Having gathered this place served local food too, I asked for the other menu. Was told the local dishes are not in the any menu and they started to list out what they offered. Fried Rice, Hor Fun, Bee Hoon....
We ordered the following to share :-
1) Seafood Pizza with Mushroom - SGD 16.45
Pizza crust was not self-made. Can find shrimps, squid slices, mushroom and clams (with shells?) on it. Pretty crispy. [rate 3.5 out of 5]
2) Fried Rice with Pork Shop - SGD 14.25
Hainanese style deep fried pork chop with sweet sour sauce. Pork chop are quite crispy. Fried rice is added eggs and frozen vegetables. Rice is a bit too hard and dry for my liking, almost choked with a few mouthful. Serving is reasonable too considering the steep price at SGD 14.25. Ambience makes up the big bulk of the price. [rate 3 out of 5]
Service - cater to lunch crowd. They are prompt but impersonal. And I notice the female servers are almost "indecently" dressed given this place is in the CBD area and not some water-holes in Boat Quay
Good venue for dates but guys - keep your eyes glued to your date and not on the female servers ya?!
Additional Information -
-10% off bill for lunch for OCBC credit cards
-PUB water provided
-10% service applies but not GST. |

| More than meets the eye
I have been here a few times and each time I seem to be ordering the local food fare as most of the diners'table was usually filled with local delights, hence maybe I was more basis again ordering the italian.
Some of the famous dishes would be Hokkien Mee, Sambal Fried Rice and Nasi Goreng.
ps. I guess I must make a note to come back to try the italian food? |

| Must Tries: Do give the local food a try first! Italian later... and give yourself ample time to people watch!~ |

| boobalicious......
Nestled in the basement of Singapore Land Tower, I had on more than one occasion been informed of the bountiful dishes that they served in this restaurant.
I thus had to try and on a rainy warm day as all Singapore days are, a few of my co-workers, all male I might add, trotted down to this establishment for our lunch.
Lo and behold I was not disappointed. Fully packed and barely able to be contained within its confines, they had spilled over and tables were set up outside along the stairwell outside the restaurant......
A typical italian menu was what they presented to us. but it was the hidden gems that I should mention as well. Nasi Goreng, Sambal Fried Rice and various local delights were all present and served under the same roof.
A great lunch place to have with your co-workers....
Now the only thing thats left for you to figure out is if it is really the hot creamy carbonara which I ordered that I am writing about or something else cuz there are things way creamier that I think I might just have not mentioned about.
this is def a people watching establishment. |
