Singapore has no shortage of brunch places these days. Filled with hipsters and overpriced food, these cafes are a dime a dozen. Jones the Grocer tries to outdo the competiion by adding a grocery store too! Now, you can get overpriced groceries at the same time!
But jokes aside, one has to say that overall, the food at Jones the Grocer is pretty decent. But that isn't why I enjoyed my experience there. No, what made this place stand out was the exceptional service! I really can't fault the staff on anything. Attentive, yet discrete. If only their food was better, I'd head down a lot mroe regularly. Still, I always enjoy my time there.
Terrible service at every step of the way -- from stating, lack of knowledge of the menu, forgotten orders, missing items -- people all over the restaurant are getting up to get things themselves because the staff is hopeless. And overpriced to boot. Not coming back.
Place is a shambles ... Worst service EVER in a SG restaurant Food took over 1 hr to arrive ... Mediocre at best ... Staff with little or no training .... Asked 4 times for water .. 3 times for Salt .... Tried for 20 mins to order coffee eventual literally had to chase manger around on foot to get to order ... Afterwards went to deli part to buy Chorizo ... Staff behind counter just ignored us and refused to serve us giving us glances and walking away I will never ever return here Massively overpriced .... I've had better food and service in Maxwell Food Court
Terrible customer service! It is true that the cheese room has an excellent selection if only there were staff to serve. On so many occasions I have been forced to wander the store in search of a member of staff. On one occasion, I waited an age only then to be sold out of date fish pâté! Twice now I have had problems at the tills as a result of incompetent cashiers. This store really needs to sort out its staff training and customer service issues. Very poor indeed!
I can best sum up the place by saying that the food and service of very average quality while price tends to be on the high side. It's a lot like P.S. Cafe in this regard, though with a smaller menu.
