Hakka food is interesting to me given that it's part of Chinese heritage, and also cos I'm a Hakka myself.
Tried their food for the first time at the Food Fest - the abacus seeds were delicious! The best I've had to date, though I haven't really had that much, since Hakka food is quite a rarity. Warm comfort food with mushrooms and a yummy sauce. Their red wine chicken was very good on first bite, but perhaps the flavour wears off by the time I got to the end of it. Presentation-wise, it probably looks a little scary given the colour...
Wanted to try their pepper stomach soup and black bean kueh too, but my friend already got so much food. Next time!
