Mmmmm breaaaddd...

Not a place you would want to bring a girl to impress her on your first date; although any girl who would want to do so at this joint score 10 points in my book.

It's hot, humid and crowded but every Thursday, something good happens.

This place happens to have one of the best kacang pool I ever had.

Kacang pool, you say?

Not to be confused with kacang putih - which are those nuts you get when you go watch a movie (or those nuts who insist on talking about the movie when you are watching the movie).

It's a Malay dish which is hardly prepared here now.

This dish is a broan bean based slightly spicy dip with diced up onions and tart cut green chilli. The taste is quite exquisite as the onion and chilli gives the mildly spicy beany dip (which is not unlike spicy barbecue baked beans) a fresh and sharp taste, complementing the earthy taste of the beans.

Along with it, you get toasted pita bread - a twist here as normally other shops use french loaves - and a sunny side up egg.

This tastes best with a piping hot glass of teh halial (ginger tea) and I am told the ginger powder they get is from Indonesia so the tea is good.

All that for only $4 - with the tea

I also recommend this place for:
