Surprisingly good Japanese food. Better than benchmark

I am usually skeptical of Japanese restaurants like this but this proved otherwise. It was quite authentic to true Japanese style and the cooking was homely and good. The selection of raw fish isn't big but they are adequate and fresh.

I usually order the sashimi don and the best fish is the hamachi (yellow tail) which was fatty enough.

I do like their cooked dishes too and they used to have a daily bento but not anymore.

Generally I think the standard here is better than sushi tei and is a hidden find!

A good option if you're in Zhongshan Park

For the full review with pictures, see here.   This is a Japanese restaurant in Zhongshan Park with reasonable prices and average to decent Japanese food.   Ordered my favourite Japanese food item here – dashimaki tamago. Not as good as Rakuichi’s, but decent enough.   The Yaki Gyoza were bad – skin too thick, hardly crisped, filling was not fresh. Oh well! Now you know.   We had this lovely grilled mentaiko cheese potato which is the first of its kind I’ve ever had and it’s delicious! I know Singaporeans don’t really like carb-y starters but this was really worth
