Best Green Tea Mille crepe ever!

For full review with pics, visit http://weekendeatwhatsg.blogspot.sg/2014/03/lady-m-confections.html

Green Tea Mille Crepe Cake
($8.50). Layers of buttery flaky crepes were coated with green tea mousse. The mousse was so soft and it sticks to the fork. Loved how it was not overly rich or sweet, and also not overly bitter. Combined with the flaky milky layers of crepe, this was a well balanced dessert.

It's other cousins were less memorable for me. They include the plain vanilla mille crepe which was average, buttery and had a caramelized top. Each layer tasted similar - too milky for my liking and soon I was tired of it. The banana mille feuille had a piece of small banana in the middle, which was engulfed by layers of fattening whipped cream which made me cringe.

Lady M is murder and it’s crepe is out to kill you!

Read the complete review with photos at http://celldarc.wordpress.com/2014/04/25/lady-m-review/

There are two Lady M Confections in Singapore. I went to the One Fullerton branch on a Sunday afternoon for lunch. Surprisingly there wasn’t much people during lunch hour. And God I’m glad.

The cafe interior is very minimalistic so if there are fewer people, you can feel the most of its simplicity.

The scenery which I can’t stress enough, is AMAZING. The cafe walls are glass paned so you can see the Singapore River from the inside of an air-conditioned cafe. With a relaxed interior atmosphere and breathtaking scenery, what’s more to like? Oh Ya.

CREPE CAKES

Lady M is most famous for its Mille crepe. It’s a classic French cake consisting of layers of paper thin crepes, each separated with a brush of French pastry cream. The word mille means “a thousand”, but it would be absurd to have a thousand layers (or is it?). The Mille crepes in Lady M I believe have 20 layers of awesomeness. Just 1 layer of crepe need lots of skill. It mustn’t be too thick or it will be starchy. It must be thin but delicate enough to savor it. And imagine doing all 20 layers of equal thinness. But are the crepe layered cakes as good as on paper? We’ll find out… (visit my full review here)

Lady M put us on cloud nine!

Lady M's version of the strawberry shortcake put us on cloud nine with such fluffy vanilla sponge cake among clouds of lightly whipped cream. With fresh strawberries nestled in between, the strawberry shortcake was just pure joy.

The Signature Mille Crepe cake was wonderful too- the crepe was handmade, layered with smooth light pastry cream, stacked neatly and nicely, and finally caramelised on the top till it is golden brown. It is indeed an art, really fine art.

With its central location overlooking the beautiful skyline of the city, Lady M is a perfect place to spend a weekend afternoon or a weekday night.

Delicious cakes, horrendous service!

For an actual account of what happened, visit http://www.littletinysun.com/2014/01/ladym-mille-crepes.html

I hardly heed anyone's advice when they told me not to visit Lady M because of their horrifying service. Just take a look at their Facebook page and other reviews and all would sing in unison. But if you're there to try their cakes, i suggest you take-away instead of dwell in such an unhappy environment.

Walk in and one feels like one is walking right into an Apple store in New York. The white-washed background and white furniture give you a sense of indescribable peace and calm.

... the milles crepe (SGD8.00), I would say the standard is highly comparable to that in Europe... (full review, visit my blog here)

Stuck-up staff

Walked in, no one served us. Stood at the counter, no one served us. Staff just stood behind the counter without any intention to serve incoming customers. After a table was available, we say down and the staff told us that 'another group of customers' were waiting for that exact table. We left the restaurant feeling frustrated and extremely disappointed with the staff's service. A far cry from the branches in the US indeed.
