Mad For Garlic- A garlic-y Affair

My experience at Mad for Garlic is on the whole great. It's unique concept of garlic-themed dishes was well appreciated by me and my family. Service was preofessional and the interior of the place was beautiful and vibrant. Although some dishes are slightly overpriced, Mad for Garlic is a place that is worth the visit.

Mad for garlic

Mad for garlic originated from Korea and it was voted by Korea Times & Korea Herald as the Best Performing Italian Restaurant concept in Korea 2013. There are 2 branches in Singapore: one in Suntec and another in Clarke Quay. I never heard of it until my friends suggested to dine here.

Overall, it is really a good dining experience and they have good service. The waiter kept on helping us to refill our water without the need to request. The ambience is also comfortable and cozy. Great place to dine with friends.

Mad for Garlic

My wife & I had one of our best meals in Singapore at their Suntec outlet.
The staff was very courtious & friendly and took time to explain some of the dishes.

We ordered two main course dishes along with wine-sprite drink. If you are someone who likes rich flavors or food prepared by a chef who knows his recipie, I would strongly reccommend you to go and try this place.

I thoroughly enjoyed this place and was actually surprised with the quality of food. And if the food is good then the rest of shortcomings done seem annoying. I see myself eating out here a lot more.

Cheers, Karan

Bad with Mad for Garlic

I'm a huge foodie, my friend bought groupon vouchers and we were very disappointed with the hygiene level. I was quite interested in their menu spread at first, but when we had mussels in tomato and that's when i realised there were flies around every table that has food. If in the dining area, each table has 8 flies or more, then can you imagine how it would be like in the kitchen? I mean the restaurant is no where near an exit of the mall, it was the deepest restaurant on the stretch and fully air-conditioned. So I was disgusted and only ate half the bowl of mussels. The manager saw what happened after I commented on the flies and she replied that they are working on pest control, then she said since you only ate half a bowl, let me whip up a new batch and let you take away with you. My stomach was sick as soon as I left, I had the runs, I couldn't go to work the next day and the new batch of mussels were straight into the rubbish chute. In all, I think it was very irresponsible of them to be open and running a groupon campaign if they are having hygiene issues that will affect their consumers' health. It's just selfish they didn't close for a few days to rectify the problem and risk their branding being flawed like what I have to say now.

Sad

Not only were our two main courses served 10 minutes apart, the margarita pizza was pathetic. The saddest pizza I have ever seen and the worst I've tasted. Almost no cheese at all and far, far too thin.
