My aversion to vampires — my allegiance is to the zombies — took me to ‘Mad For Garlic’, a restaurant that in recent years has become a mecca for garlic aficionados. Posh yet positively congenial, the interior is adorned with a myriad of used champagne bottles and overhanging wine glasses.
Mad for Garlic has an unabashed love affair with the bulbous plant and almost every dish is served with a form of variation of it: garlic butter sauce, sprout, pickles, etc. As someone who loves garlic, I imagine a trip to the inventory room would be the equivalent of stepping into Willy Wonker’s factory: a room lined with nothing else but rows and rows of garlic.
