disappointing

I really enjoyed my previous experiences at man jia le (far east), so I thought this branch at The Central would be equally impressive too.

when I dropped by it was 10am, the eatery was not opened so I asked the lady when they would. she said 11am. hung around till 11am and when I got back the woman was unappreciative of the fact and still made me wait, giving me weird looks in between.

ordered pork chop rice. not available.
how about braised pork rice. not available either.
apparently all the rice/noodle items all not ready yet.

ended up ordering iced milk tea, egg-wrapped carrot cake and superwings, all of which I had tried at the far east outlet and impressed me. but this time only the iced milk tea did not disappoint. the carrot cake was mushy and not fully cooked. superwings weren't too bad but got really salty after awhile. at least they separate the drumstick and wings for you and serve it with napkins.

made a mental note to always stick to the main branch cos this franchise was really a waste of my time and $$.

Must Tries: iced milk tea

I'm not coming back here

8pm, Mango pudding, out of stock, banana spilt, out of stock, almond jelly, out of stock. I began to wonder what a nice dessert stall this was. Then we ordered the Mango topping - coconut milk ice. It took more than 15mins to come. Considering that they were only preparing food for one other couple, it was horribly long.

The ice was disgusting. It was extremely sour and sweet. The sweetness came from an overdose of syrup and the mango was just sour. The packet coconut milk tasted just as disgusting. For a cup of this, it cost $4.50. The price I would only pay if it was a restaurant, but no it wasn't, it was just a stall.

It was very warm too, and you were the object of viewing to anyone who walks to The Central from Clark Quay MRT.
