Awesome sides with good ramen

Tried many different ramen shops, and Marutama Ramen has very good texture. They serve a few different soup based ramen & I recommend the chicken flavoured! Add a tamago in your ramen for a nicely seasoned boiled egg, slightly watery on the inside.

The sides are exceptionally well done. One of the must tries is the Yaki Char Siew (comes in slices and served with lemon) - nicely roasted and melts in your mouth. For non-ramen fans, try the Char Siew Rice ($5) its a low budget alternative that can fill your stomach.

We also ordered a Gyoza, which was not bad, the serving's decent, soaked in a little vinegar.

Ramen

There are alot of japanese ramen restaurant at the central, however marutama ramen is one of my favourite ramen restaurant that i would often patronize. I would recommend for everyone to try out this place for a bowl of ramen. If you are those that always go for full sets, they have additional add on that you can add on to go along with your ramen. After doing your shopping , a bowl of ramen at marutama is the best choice as a meal for dinner.

Good ramen!

There are many ramen dining places in Singapore but in my honest opinion, Marutama ramen has got to be one of the better ramen outlets in Singapore. Located at the Central, this place offers ramen with thinner noodles (which is better than those thicker ones that makes it almost like udon) and their tamago (egg) is probably one of the best in the business. Do feel free to pop by here for a nice bowl of ramen here which you can top with seaweed and generous portions of spring onions. Water is foc and there are finger food available as well. The inside of the place can be a bit dark but I don't feel that it matters a lot.

Nicest Ramen Tried

One the nicest ramen and pork that we had tried. It's noodle is well made and tasted very delicious with it's flavour of soup. Friend recommend us to try and we will like to recommend to others to try it out too.

HORRIBLE SERVICE

The food here is alright, but they serve limited broths. however, the service was atrocious as there was a male service staff that was extremely rude to us. The old aunties also have the cheek to lie to you and give lousy excuses to cover things up. Strongly suggest people go to their other outlets or have better ramen elsewhere. The service staff really suck. The consistency of the place has also gone down by far. I used to be a fan of this place bit I am now f finding new places as the quality has gone down with the service.

Not everyone loves chicken broth based ramen

Their ramen broth is chicken based. Not too heavily flavored nor thick. It's light and cloudy in texture and the soup is yummy! Not really a fan of the thin noodles but their noodles are homemade hakata  style ramen. I ordered the $12 set. It comes with a piece of charsiew. I had to pay extra to add the egg. In conclusion, Marutama ramen is not really fantastic, may be forgettable but if you're a fan of chicken broth based ramen, this is the one for you.
