Where to find... cheap cheap meals like these...

[UPDATE - 13 SEPT 2008]

Just a little update about the overall price hike...
However, it is still within reason...
Personal sized Pesto-Mayo Chicken is now $5.00 (increment of $0.10)
Creamy Chicken Spaghetti is now $3.50 (increment of $0.50)
But standard still good!!

Since FEB 2008, 1x every Fortnight

Well, I work in NUS, so this is a place I will definitely return to when I have late lunch or if it is searing hot outside (Air-Con) or raining heavily (Sheltered).

WARNING: Do avoid this place during PEAK lunch hours as the wait can be >20 mins!!

Generally, the Western are acceptable, specially the Chicken Cutlet ($3.90), or the Mixed Grill (<$5.00). The other item I'd go for will be their Pizza. My favorite will have to be their Pesto Mayo Chicken Pizza (personal size serves 1 for $4.90). For Vegetarians, their Veggie Pizza cost a shocking $2.90. Cheap right!?!

Their Sandwiches and Wraps are also rather good. However, they cost the same but is nowhere near as filling as a decent Western or Pizza.

THE BEST THING IS: I never spend more than $7.00 there!

Must Tries: Pesto-Mayo Chicken Pizza!

I also recommend this place for

cheap food in aircon environment

I was so surprised at how affordable the food is!!! $3.90 chicken cutlet gets you 2 reasonably-sized fried chicken cutlets with BBQ sauce, watery mushroom soup, generous serving of fries and coleslaw! Some other places, for $3.90 you only get watery soup!!! It's definitely value for money but forget it if you're looking for ambience and service!

Actually, the chicken cutlets was not bad! It's crispy and the BBQ sauce was nice too. Coleslaw is like the ones you have at KFC, so I supposed it's ok.

My friend bought baked fish at $3.90 too. It was with 2 pieces of fish with pepper sauce (I think!). Can't complain for $3.90.

Their teriyaki chicken sandwich was not too bad too at $4.90. The focacia bread was very soft and comes with generous servings of vegs! Beats Spinelli's sandwich anytime, I say!

Dessert was also affordable. Ching teng was only $1 and generous, generous, generous!!

Quite a wide range of food - there are pizzas too!

Next time, I'm broke this is the place for me! But I have to be there by 11 am or after 2 pm! The lunch queue is a killer!

Very cramped and noisy like a fish market

Friday (4 Jan 08). Came here for lunch with my friend LCS. We were originally headed for the Science Canteen for our lunch, but passed by this place and decided to eat here instead. The food selection consists of pasta, pizza, mains (such as fish & chips, and steak), burgers/sandwiches and cake-type desserts. The system here is that there is a separate queue for each of the different variety of food; and you go to the appropriate queue to place your order. After placing your order, the staff will present to you with a numbered plastic chip and a piece of paper stating your order. Next, proceed to the cashier for payment and hand-over the slip of paper. Find a place to sit, and wait for your number to be called out over the public address system; then collect food.

F&B:
I ordered a Seafood Spaghetti ($5.90), which came with a Mushroom Soup as a set. I would say that the Mushroom Soup was mediocre because it was very watery and did not even have any solid pieces of mushroom in it. The spaghetti came in a tomato-based sauce with a decent amount of prawns, squid and a piece of oyster. Overall pretty decent, but could have been better if the spaghetti was not so thoroughly cooked.

A/S:
I hated it. The tables are very cramped closed together, and the seats are backed up against one another. It is extremely noisy here and it was unbearable; as noisy as a fish market.

Value:
Fair.

Service:
Average.
