Nice but not wallet friendly too.

I went there on a Sunday night for family dinner. We spent about $91.30 for 6 people.

We ordered one fishhead steamboat, 2 vegetables, 1 meat roll and 1 pig intestines. The food were great but i still think that it's overpriced for the steamboat. The service was rather fast but their service over the phone was bad cos i wanted to make a reservation but the person over the phone cannot understand English! This made me rather unhappy because i had to pop over earlier to reserve seats even though they allowed reservation.

No doubt, I have to admit that the food is delicious.    However, I've encountered an unfortunate event on that visit. It happened when the bill came. Most of the side dishes are priced higher than stated. Thus, I made a check with one of the waiter. To my horror, the reason for the "increased" price is because of Chinese New Year, which I'm not aware of during the ordering process. For example, I ordered a small plate of toufu. But due to the CNY period, my small toufu is "upsized" to a medium one, which is seemed to be more suitable for the 6 of us. However, all these "upsizes" are not known to me during the ordering process. The waiter who helped me with the order said okay when I state that I want a small one. In addition, no confirmation of order was made.    In my opinion, if there are such changes to be made during a special occasion, customers should be told first. How can they change their terms and go ahead with the cooking without letting the customers know? on that visit. It happened when the bill came. Most of the side dishes are priced higher than stated. 3As to Learn

Adapt

The waitresses do not have the patient & only make their OWN assumption. Customers fully have the right to voice out their views in this resturant. The management totally lack of team work, leadership, more, etc.

Ask

The waitresses do not anticipate questions. As simple as one word answer. Please have the courtesy to ASK customers what they want.

Account

Staffs should honor their words and account for it. Ordered Dish A, Served Dish B. It's totally a failure & ludicrous.

To all, please have a thought before making your way to the FALSE restuarant.

Dishonest and Unreasonable

Will like to share this horrible fishy experience learnt :

Although there are 2 fish head steamboat eateries along this stretch of road, we have decided to try this one, with the RED signage, as it looks more comfortable wih air con.

Firstly, when we ask for menu, the waitress just pass us a piece of paper on the table with very few items, and NO prices, and told us that this is the menu.

-->  The woman was already plotting to cheat us from the very start. She intentionally do not want to show us the rates from the start.

Basically, she just told us there are 4 types of fish, at 4 different prices. Please note she did not mention that within each fish type, there are different sizes available. So we ordered a Red Snapper steamboat at $50. On top of that, we ordered 3 different side dishes, whereby we specifically state that we want SMALL sizes for all the side dishes as there were only 5 of us.

When the fish steamboat came, we thought they had given us the wrong pot, as it seem like the skin of the fish slices are all black in color, which shouldn't be like this, as we ordered RED SNAPPER. So we got the waitress who had taken our order come over to our table to check with her. And her reply to us : Yes, the skin of Red Snapper is black in color. As, we are not fish specialists, we chose to trust her.

--> She gave us a cheaper fish as compared to what we had ordered, and yet can lie through her teeth saying that the skin of RED SNAPPER is black.

However, as we carry on eating, we realized that there are only like 6-7 slices of fish in the pot, and it seem like our pot size is the same as other table which has only 2 people, and that there are bigger sizes for those tables with different groups.

--> She gave us a small-sized pot, and charge us at the rate of a big-sized pot.

So we went to ask for the menu from another waitress, and realized that they are different sizes available. At the same time, we asked another waitress to confirm what fish is inside our pot, and she said Black Garoupa, which is cheaper than Red Snapper, which is the one we ordered. But, when we asked why they give us Black Garoupa when we ordered Red Snapper, she started to twist her words... Omg.. What the hell is wrong with this shop?

Finally, we got the waitress who took our order to give us our bill, and know what, even though their menu says $10 each for small portions for 2 of the side dishes that we ordered, the bill says $12. When we asked the waitress why is it so, she said they go by head count, small is too little for us, so she upsize for us. But, please note that $12 is not their medium size rates too. It was just a random amount.

--> Even though there are different rates for S M L for their side dishes, the amount we are charged are neither of these 3 rates, we are charged with a random figure plucked from the sky.

Omg.. Ridiculously DISHONEST and UNREASONABLE!!

I will NEVER step foot in this place again.

Great Fish Steamboat

There are a few type of fish steamboat in this place. My favourite is the promfret slice. Main reason is that is the fish is still firm and intact throughout the whole meal. Other type of fish seems to disintegrate into bits and pieces after a while.

The key to the this great steamboat is their soup. It is very sweet and clear. Plus when u put in the fried sole fish, yam etc - it really is a great comfort food esp if u eat it on a rainy nite. Remember to ask them to refill the soup as food will get burnt when there are too little soup. There are usual side dishes u can order to go with the steamboat like beancurds, kangkong etc. I suggest u just focus on the steamboat as it is has enough different stuff to keep u happy

If i remember correctly, price is about 38 per pot - enough to feel a family of 2 adults and 2 kids. U can always order additional portion of fish.

The place is very crowded around 7-9pm and might resemble a madhouse with clients desperately trying to get their orders in. I been there at 6+pm and it is much better esp if u r going with children.
