I went there on a Sunday night for family dinner. We spent about $91.30 for 6 people.

We ordered one fishhead steamboat, 2 vegetables, 1 meat roll and 1 pig intestines. The food were great but i still think that it's overpriced for the steamboat. The service was rather fast but their service over the phone was bad cos i wanted to make a reservation but the person over the phone cannot understand English! This made me rather unhappy because i had to pop over earlier to reserve seats even though they allowed reservation.

No doubt, I have to admit that the food is delicious.    However, I've encountered an unfortunate event on that visit. It happened when the bill came. Most of the side dishes are priced higher than stated. Thus, I made a check with one of the waiter. To my horror, the reason for the "increased" price is because of Chinese New Year, which I'm not aware of during the ordering process. For example, I ordered a small plate of toufu. But due to the CNY period, my small toufu is "upsized" to a medium one, which is seemed to be more suitable for the 6 of us. However, all these "upsizes" are not known to me during the ordering process. The waiter who helped me with the order said okay when I state that I want a small one. In addition, no confirmation of order was made.    In my opinion, if there are such changes to be made during a special occasion, customers should be told first. How can they change their terms and go ahead with the cooking without letting the customers know? on that visit. It happened when the bill came. Most of the side dishes are priced higher than stated. The fishhead steamboat is excellent. One of the best in Singapore.

Good food...if you can ignore the rest.

One of the best fish steamboat place I have visited. The soup is really good, savoury with fresh fish and a hint of char grilled bonito flake, which is pretty unique. The also do refill for the soup but soup used for the refill is just basic stock, so dont expect the same taste as the first time round although I still find it tasty. The rest of their signature dishes like the salted egg prawn and ribs are also not too bad. But the place is always crowed and expect a long wait with no reservation. The small shop also means far from comfortable eating environment and be prepared to sit right next to the dish collection point if unlucky. Overall, if you can ignore the surrounding, the fish steamboat is probably worth it for the price.
