When we arrived, the place was packed. We were brought to our table and staff took time to run us through the menu which was on the mini ipads! The tasting platter with assorted cheese and cold cuts is yummy and the stuffed chicken breast with the carrot sauce is so tasty and delicious. I chose the chocolate mi-cuit canele that ended my meal just great. Staff were very attentive despite the small place being packed. And we were taken cared of. I am truly glad me and my friend found this place. We will definitely come back! This time to try their wines in the "vending" machine.
One of the worst restaurant experiences I've had - Came with a bunch of my girlfriends for restaurant week to have the 3 course dinner set. I was fine with the starter and main course (it wasn't great but I wasn't upset) till I got served the worst lemon tart I've ever had. After my first bite I wanted to just abandon the whole tart but my friends were fine with theirs?? So I thought there was something wrong with me and gave it a second go but it still tasted d*** weird to me so I gave half of it to my friend. She took a first bite and cursed so loudly that my other friends who were eating their own tarts asked whether there was something wrong with mine. After we tried each other's tarts we immediately realized there was something VERY wrong with mine. My friend said there was a strong soap taste, LOL. So I called a waitress over and explained that there was something wrong with my tart and what she said was 'halfway through?'. I requested for a replacement and I was sorry for giving them trouble so I said 'so sorry about that' as she walked off and I got chided by my friends because the staff didn't bother to apologize to me and I shouldn't have been the only one saying sorry. I was still ok at that point till she came back with the replacement without the small dollop of gelato. This really made me very annoyed LOL because what- I only had 1/4 of the first tart and I finished the gelato because that small side helped me wash down the bad tart that I didn't know was bad till too late and now the staff is acting like I want to eat more of their tart just because I'm greedy so they served me a replacement without the gelato? It's totally insulting. I understand if the staff thought I was crazy because she didn't taste the bad tart LOL but what I really can't stomach is their assumptions and attitude. Hello - I only had a quarter of the first tart and I wished I didn't, maybe I'll get food poisoning tomorrow LOL. I'm not so cheapskate that if I want to eat more of their tart I pretend the first one is bad and ask for another. This is legit the first time I've had such a bad experience at a restaurant and the first ever time I'm writing an essay review, LOL.
I visited this place during restaurant week last year (partly also due to the offer on tow) with my partner and was not at all disappointed by the place. In fact, I feel that this place exceeded my expectations and am glad that I managed to reserve a time slot on that day. I had some sort of crab soup for started and a grilled fish for the main course followed by the dessert. The portions weren't too much but the food was extremely tasty. In fact, I wonder how much it will cost if it wasn't for restaurant week. You can also sip wine and other drinks as you enjoy your meal. I will most likely pay this place another visit so as to find out the original prices of their food items and to sample their other food as well!
We have been going to Napoleon on multiple occasions by now and it has never been a letdown, we love the french food and especially their new menu. But what we love most about it is to be able to sample so many different wines by the glass.
