Noo Cheng Adam Road Big Prawn Mee is quite a hit with the patrons of Adam Road Food Centre. Ok lor, so many people eat this, cannot go too wrong right.

We ordered smallest portion Pork Ribs Big Prawn Noodles ($5) & Pork Slices Big Prawn Noodles ($4). Suggestion: try mixing 2 different noodles together for a more textured bite & ask the auntie for more broth.

They have different prawn treatment for their Pork Ribs & Pork Slice options. The prawns for the Pork Ribs Noodles were kept intact while the prawns for the Sliced Pork Noodles were neatly cut into half for convenience.

My personal take is that the portion is relatively small for $4. The prawns are not really big as what the name suggested and perhaps not as fresh as I would like them to be. But the broth is definitely tasty and the good part is you can go back & request for a refill anytime.

Please pardon my service & ambience ratings as this is a hawker centre stall! Do not come here if you are looking out for chill out or good service. :)

$5 for a bowl of prawn mee is pretty expensive, considering that it's hawker fare. But think of the number of prawns you get, the slurp-worthy soup, and maybe you would willingly fish that $5 out of your pocket.

The thing I hate most about eating prawn noodles is that it's very troublesome to remove the prawn head. Here they remove it for you leaving the tail. Oh, but I would love it even better if they could clear the intestines of the prawn instead of leaving it there- nothing harmful, just unsightly. Prawns weren't wonderfully fresh but it's fine. The soup is sweet, albeit too little. The pork rib in the soup was so tender then it almost snatched the limelight from the prawns and the soup. The kway teow (I don't really like the usual yellow noodles) was fine too. And for the healthy, you get added vegetables as bonus for visiting their store!

Yes, $5 might be a little steep for prawn mee although I found that it was worth every dollar. However, don't take my words for real because I eat prawn mee only occasionally so I don't know whether this stall is better than the rest.

Agree with reviewers here who were disappointed with the prawn noodle.

Had the $5 portion. The yellow noodle had "kee" taste. Normal prawns was so so, soup was also average.

For $5 it was below value in my opinion.

This is our 1st time at Adam Rd and we were innocently attracted by the long queue even though a few of our past experience with queues have not always been very gratifying. Yes, we know that a long queue is not always synonymous with a sumptuous meal. Still what are the odds? After all, we didn't check the reviews this time. Maybe we chose a really good day, cos we didn't encounter any of the issues faced by the other reviewers. The dry prawn noodle is a little costly at $5 but the broth was rich and tasty. The pork rib soup is much more concentrated and more oily and it is really yummy. Warning: consume in moderation and come here only if you have been eating healthily for days and it sure will not disappoint you. Mother-in-law even liked it! If you are still not convinced, check Dr Leslie Tay's Blog: http://ieatishootipost.sg/2006/12/noo-cheng-adam-road-prawn-noodle-its.html.

Ignore the newspaper clippings and Makansutra rating. Do yourself a favour and don't waste your money.

They used to be quite good. The soup is fine without MSG or at least too much of it and the dry version has a tomato sauce chilli mix that is unique. The long queue at this stall is now gone.

What you get now is a bland tasteless over-priced shadow of its old quality. They can't even be bordered to give you sufficient garnishings even if you order a $8 bowl!

The trays are dirty and smelly too!

Requested for a mix of thick yellow noodles and bee hoon, but was given the thick bee hoon instead.

Worse of all, the noodles were so hard and the soup mediocre.. Will not eat this again!

    1. Petite Mummy They probably use those "instant" thick bee hoon but did not soak them long enough. Generally, I find their prawns rather fresh and of decent size.

This is the worst prawn noodles i've ever eaten.

Tasteless soup. I wonder why so many people are eating it.

Service was bad. A lady that so eager to take yr order, yet don't listen properly and gives you the wrong thing. She would even ask you $5 or $7. Lucky i chose $4, If not i would have cried over my prawn noodles.

Totally not worth the money. Even the fishball noodles looks more atttractive.
