    Good Ambience & Food!

    21 May 2012
We held an corporate event there last month. The Canapes were really good, wine and drinks are refilled at all times. Networking with the ambiance seems much more less hassle. Also went with my girlfriends a while back, their Peking Duck is over the roof, the skin really melts in your mouth together with the sugar - which we were been told that this is actually the traditional way of eating Peking Duck. Must try!

I also recommend this place for:

Best Peking Duck but poor service despite great ambience.

      20 Feb 2012
The peking duck is the best i had tried in Singapore as it uses a different species of duck which is larger in size and oozes much fats necessary to bring forth a smokey peking duck flavor unlike any others tried before. Try having the duck meat sliced as it taste fresh and sweeet, unlike the duck meat in most restnt which tend to be bland.

We ordered sliced fish with egg white and it was completely unfresh, with the fish a nasty grey color and smell when served upon the table. Restnt mgr even repeatedly reinforced the fish is bought in the morning ... hello.. that does not mean it is fresh.. it really does not take a genius to smell an unfresh fish. With the priced it commands, it is not acceptable to serve such unfresh fish. Finally the mgr had it cancelled and we did not have to pay for it.

The sliced winter melon is excellent, and so are some of the dim sum dishes. I had asked for the ala carte menu to be emailed to me as i intend to organised a company dinner for 2 tables, the staffs decline saying they do not do that. This is amazing, given how empty the restnt is, on how they disregard the business opportunity presented.

Ambience is great especially for tourists as there is the spectabular view of the Marina Bay Sands but overall experience is a letdown if compared to HuTong in HK which I frequent a lot. Given time, i hope the service level improves and that the restnt remembers that Singapore is known for great seafood, to serve unfresh seafood (in previous review, many commented on unfresh scallops) in this land is unforgivable.

I also recommend this place for:

Romance/First Dates, Business Dining, View/Scenery, Alfresco/Outdoor Dining, Hidden Find, Waterfront
