| Still the best Jap Pasta in town
i'm glad that this opened in Hereen, more accessible compare to the one at Marina Sq... Anyway, i went for my favourite coe row pasta and Scallop & prawn pizza... what i like is that the food comes pretty fast after i placed my order so that i dont have to wait too long for my food. |

| Must Tries: scallop and prawn pizza; coe roe pasta( for those who want something light in taste); Hamburg steak pasta |

| Sir, can I have some more?
Dropped by for the first time to this Japanese pasta place for lunch. Ordered the set lunch of spinach-bacon pasta, it comes with corn soup, a side of tomato-cheese pizza, mini-mini salad and an ice-tea. My companion ordered from the special menu: curry risotto.
The spinach-bacon is different but not in a nice way. Generously draped in spinach sauce, the bacon bits feels odd when paired this way. Perhaps if the bacon was crispier - that would lend a nice texture to the dish. The rice risotto was ordinary but plus points for presentation. It's diluted japanese curry mixed into the rice. Finally, the pizza was just ordinary.
Unfortunately, the food is nothing spectacular. For me anyway, it's a place to drop by just to fill the stomach. I also though the portions were really small.
Maybe because the place was a bit quiet during weekday lunch, the service was good - lots of happy chirpy waiting crew |

| Nice dinner, very value for $ with the 50% discount.
went to pasta de waraku yesterday with a group of girlfriends to take advantage of the ladies night 50% special. First time at pdw. Friendly service, pretty quick as well. Nice and cheery docor. Noise level grew steadily throughout the meal as more tables started to fill… nothing too obtrusive. Still, it might be more pleasant if we were at the side of the restaurant rather than right in the middle of it.
Extensive menu, great for someone who loves choices like me… though it may be a little challenging if you’re the sort who cannot make up your mind. Thank goodness I already knew what I wanted to have, the pizza. Has the scallop and prawn pizza. Ordered the mini (4 slices). Bad decision, it was rather small, perhaps that’s why its called the mini. Anyway, should have order the regular but I thought 4 slices should have been sufficient. It would be save that the pizza was more of a cracker with toppings! But very nice, I enjoyed it. Cost is on the steep side but can’t argue that the taste is nice. Would like to try the unagi pizza.
Friends had the prawn and mushroom spaghetti, sea urchin/roe fettuccini and the salmon and spinach baked rice. I must say the baked rice was really nice… cheesy n creamy, very flavorful. The pasta was ok, friends enjoyed it, nothing to complain about, but nothing to shout at either. From what I saw coming out of the kitchen, think the gratin/bake pasta or rice looked better. But to each his own, there’re so much variety of pasta, really shouldn’t be difficult finding one you like. All in all a very nice meal. |

| Fresh and Yummy!
I have always wanted to try Pasta de Waraku at Central Mall at Clarke Quay but since I was in town last week, I decided to pop by the new Heeren branch.
Ambience
The restaurant is pretty small hence tables were pretty close to one another. No nice outdoor view. The cute pasta bowls wall made up for that though.
Service
Other than me having to remind the service staff for ice water, the staff were extremely prompt in other areas. They were quick and mindful to refill our ice water and clear empty plates.
Food
Scallop and Prawn Pizza
This was really yummy. I am both a fan of thick and thin pizzas so I may be biased. There is nothing outstanding about the sauce, but the cheese was neither tasteless nor too salty. The prawns and scallops on the pizza are very fresh and succulent.
Crab and Lettuce Salad Pasta with Wafu Black Vinegar Sauce
Crab salad was extremely tasty and the roe on top of the salad added plus points. Pasta was al dente. Perfect for light eaters. Sauce may sound strange but the savoury watery sauce complements the plain pasta and the sweet salad.
Scallop Cream Pasta
Cream sauce was flavorful compared to other cream sauces that I tried. Pasta was al denta too. For the pasta, there are only 2 choices - fettucine and spaghetti.
Overall, a good dining experience with tasty and fresh food. There are also japanese curries and set meals available. The varieties of pasta will sure make you take a long time to decide. If you love pasta, give this place at least one try! |
