Great Happy Hours

Their daily happy hours are great when they sell their 1/2 pints for $3 which is even cheaper than most kopitiams!  Some days it's Erdinger, some days Tiger, Kirin...

Usually, we will also order their signature steak but have them cut into bite sizes to go with our cheap beers.

Good Set Lunch at Porterhouse!

I have driven past this restaurant along Killiney Road many times, and finally had a chance to try the restaurant when my business contact suggested we try this place out.

This restaurant is now under new management and there is a new chef in the kitchen. The Chef is Japanese and he has a new menu on offer.

There is a decent set lunch menus available and it starts from $18. The set lunch includes a soup, main course, dessert and coffee/ tea.

I ordered a $18 set lunch, as I was craving for a pasta. I ordered the Spaghetti Pescatore Rosso, which is a spaghettini with seafood in a creamy tomato sauce. The portion is huge, with a prawn, two mussels and some calamari rings. Instead of the usual tomato sauce base, they added cream to the tomato base, so it was good.

My business contact selected the Hamburg set at $20. He got a 200gm beef patty hamburger, sautéed mushrooms, salad and French fries. The meat patty is thick and juicy. I tried a portion of the burger. Good stuff.

We were also served mushroom soup, which was well blended.

The food quality is good, and portions are good. I was very full after the meal.

I will definitely be back again.

Very attentive service as well.  Did not need to request for water to be topped up even once despite the fact that it was fairly full.

Had the hamburg set lunch with egg and rice. Set came with soup (onion), mains, coffee and a small dessert at roughly $20. On hindsight, should have gone with the bread instead as the plate of rice was fairly huge and I had to leave about half of it uneaten.  Worth a return visit.
