The food left me underwhelmed
Went for a late dinner with my wife after reading about the 'authentic mexican fare' the place offers. Maybe it is because I'm so used to the localised Mexican food in Singapore but alas, everything I ordered turned out to be a disappointment.
To be fair, the menu is indeed quite extensive but it didn't help that it lists Mexican ingredients even the waitress serving us struggled with (choice of Oaxaca or Panela?). Our starter chips came with salsa dip devoid of tomatoe bits and was way too salty. The chicken Enmoladas was drowning in thick mole sauce, which itself was difficult to stomach and I made me kick myself immediately for being adventurous and selecting the 'chef's recommendation' on the menu. We also found the braised pork Carnitas too dry and heavy with the corn taco, which my wife tried to remedy with the leftover salsa from our chips!
Most items on the menu are priced upwards of $20, so it's relatively expensive considering that this is an open air establishment.
I guess growing up on the likes of the now defunct Chico's n Charlie's (1st Mexican restaurant in SG), I should stick to 'less authentic' Mexican fare and head back to my regular Mexican haunts.
