Maybe because it is due to myself working nearby the restaurant, hence me and my colleagues would always meet together for lunch there.

My top order is always hotpot spicy seafood beancurd soup. It had lots of tofu and around 3 types of seafood in it. The tofu is a lot but I think it is really healthy. I love it that it had lots of egg. It only costs $9.90++ for the lunch set. It comes together with 3 sided dishes, white rice and free flow of barley tea. I would also finish all the food and the soup.

2nd top order would be Ginseng (half small) Chicken Soup. It comes together with purple rice and 3 sided dishes and free flow of barley tea, but for me I can't finish the rice because the glutinous rice in the chicken is quite filling. Next time when I order, I would ask them not to give me the rice. It costs around $13.90++.

I also love to order the set of the day. It consists of one small soup, white rice, mandu, pancake and 3 sided dishes. It costs around $11.90++. It downside is it don't come with free flow barley. A cup will cost an additional of $1.

Some of the other dishes I tried like ddobokki (spicy rice cakes), it is not up to my liking.

As for the service, some are nice. There is one when we request for more ikan bilis sided dish only, he bring over 3 small plates of ikan bilis and additional 4-6 more small plates of sided dishes. We were overwhelmed with the amount of sided dishes we had. For that visit onward, whenever that crew saw us, additional sided dishes would be served before our main food comes. When we were almost finishing our food, that crew would pop by and refill our drinks and sided dishes.

However there were some crews who were not very nice. There was one crew who threw the food menus onto our table instead  of putting it down nicely. There was another staff whom take our order very rushy without any smile and service on her face due to peak hour.

Overall, I am very satisfied, mostly due to the delicious food.

    Must tries: spicy beancurd soup

    Seoul Yummy? Pardon me.

A Korean casual dining chain which needs to improve big time. Not only was service bad during off-peak hours but food was terrible as well.

Side dishes -- staff weren't sure what side dishes were available. In addition, they came in miniscule portions, barely enough for 1 person. Let's forget about the taste.

Main dishes -- we had spicy seafood stew, bibimbap and  spicy chicken bbq -- all typical Korean dishes. The spicy seafood stew was full of tofu apart from the spiciness. The latter two were nothing fantastic nor memorable, just passable thankfully.

The only saving grace was the barley tea. I would certainly not return.

I heard seoul yummy from my friends, and decided to give it a shot. I went there for dinner with my little brother. I saw the promotion set for 2 persons and it was interesting. However, the menu was not that vary, it is just the same as food court with more expensive price. We ordered bibimbap, spicy chicken BBQ, and spicy seafood soup, which cost us $41. Moreover, the portion was exactly like those in food court. There's nothing special. Ridiculous. With the same price I could get samgyupsal and ccap jae at Nolboo restaurant, or buffet at Soju Bang.

It is not worth at all. I won't come back :(

When it comes to healthy eating, korean cuisine would definitely be my choice.

Met up with a frene, who employed me as his dietitian, for dinner at Seoul Yummy @ Novena Square 2. I was demostrating how to make smart choices dining out.

I always love the way koreans prepare their food. They put their heart and great thoughts to the people enjoying it. Not just the presentation of bright colours in the dishes to jazz up your appetite, but deep thoughts for health were put into it. To them, healthy eating is their way of life.

This is my 2nd visit here. We ordered the set which was more worth it with the ban chan and Dumplings.

The korean dumplings were served w red chili oil, which is nothing compared to the chinese style jiao zi. I still prefer chinese dumplings w lotsa ginger strips.

Fish roe bibimbap w Brown rice. Rich in iron and lotsa vege. Excellent dish

Cold buckwheat noodles. Refreshing with crunchy vege.

i wouldnt say this place serve very good korean cuisine, but its not as pricey as hanseng family restuarant (which is opp this restaurant on the same level). Might just be back if i happen to need a med-range korean cuisine.

Have been craving for Korean food, and was enticed by Seoul Yummy's food smell and reasonable prices amongst the other Korean eateries at Square 2.

We were served by a sweet looking waitress with a very cheerful disposition. Bonus for the good service she provided.

Three of us shared a set meal ($33.80) for 2 pax, comprising 4 refillable side dishes, 1 carbo dish, 1 fish and 1 soup. We ordered:

    1) stirfried beef glass noodle - disappointing. the glass noodle was too soggy).

    2) grilled saba fish - fantastic. juicy and flavourful. the sweet black sauce accompanying the fish was a nice touch.

    3) bean paste soup - ordered mild spicy. Ok. not sweet enough.

Also ordered a bowl of rice ($1.50) for added carbo. The rice was very authentically korean. Sticky and compact. But they could have packed more into the metal bowl for that price charged (bowl was only 3/4 full).

As for the four side dishes, the kimchi was really good. We also loved the cold silky soft tofu in a sweet sourish chilli sauce. These two , we ordered a few refills.

Overall, the food was quite satisfying and authentic, while the prices were very agreeable to my budget.

    Must tries: saba fish, kimchi

    1. blargh im surprised they only provided 4 sides, for a party of 3! i was there on sunday for dinner and even though my partner and i ordered one set meal each ($16.99) that stated 4 complimentary sides, they served us 6.

of course they didnt say the complimentary sides were refillable and we didnt ask them to do likewise in any case.

I went for lunch with 2 other colleagues at Seoul Yummy on 21 Aug.

    We ordered the following -

    1. Saba fish with rice whh my friend says is not too nice. plain and not grilled well

    2. Beancurd w seafood soup - too much beancurd.. the seafood is jux a tiny bit

    3. Kim Chi Soup w Chicken - waiter is nice to allow the meat change from pork to chicken

If you think that food is just food (nothing vastly different), you can try this restaurant.

We "smell" of food after leaving the restaurant.

Of the many Korean restaurants in Singapore I have tried, this place stands out as serving more authentic South Korean fare. The place is actually linked to the Korean food court outlet at the basement of Concorde Hotel singapore, whicn incidentally also serves rather authentic Korean dishes.

Servings, especially the soups, are generous and the food is very good. I visit this place regularly as they are one of the few places that serve very palatable brown rice with beans, which is a rare find in Singapore! They also serve up the small korean appetizer dishes, which are pretty well done and best of all, are free flowing.

They also have a dessert bar serving ice creams and fruit yoghurts, in case you aren't already full from the generous helpings. However, I would really like to see Samgyetang on the menu!

Healthy and tasty, so yummy! :)

Must tries: Saba Fish, Barley Tea, Kimchi Chigae

Yes, that's right! The restaurant is really called Seoul Yummy, which sound like so yummy. First of all, thumb up for the innovative name, least left a impression for me... ^_^

The menu offers both ala carte food items, as well as various meal sets with different pricing. Being the lazy kind, I just took the dinner set, mid range one of coz =p The set dinner that I picked was for 2 pax, included 6 side dishes, 1 grilled saba, 1 seafood soup and fried bee hoon.

In addition to the set meal, I also ordered the cheese rice cakes.

Definitely my favourite dish! Cheese and Rice Cake, both I like! The plate was first lined with rice cakes in their special sauce, and then layered with a coating of cheese. Even though the sauce looked "challenging", it was not spicy at all. Great for non-spicy fans like myself. ^__^ I definitely recommend this dish, something unique I feel. Try it if you are there!

I visit Seoul Yummy whenever I go to Novena. The expansion of Seoul Yummy is just next door. New expansion has a better ambience for dinning. However with the expansion, there's a change in the menu, same food/taste with higher prices and smaller quantities.

Those marked with chef recommendations on the menu taste pretty good. It is still a worthy meal as the quantity is quite filling even though it is lesser than before. The six side dishes are refillable but it seems redundant if you don't find them nice. The services are good, attendant are polite and serving is is fast.

This place suits for casual family dinner and small-group gathering for those with budget of $20.

Must tries: Kimchi Soup w/ Brown Rice

    1. blargh what did you have to eat, and in particular, how did they turn out?

    2. foX I can't really remember the names of the dishes cos the ordering goes by numbers. as what stated, its causual dinning, those basic dishes that appear commonly in korean stores. anyway, i think i ordered spicy chicken hot plate, kimchi soup and pot rice. the food served is similar to the display picture, nothing really great about it, just normal, casual. compare with singapore style food, the food here is of lighter taste (e.g. less oil, less salt) and it will be a disappointing dinner if you like spicy and strong spices food. though the place is quite small, the utensils and environment is pretty clean and tidy for dine in.

Was walking along Square 2 and suddenly feel like having an early dinner.

Decided to have korean food. Go thru their menu and have something that chef's recomandation. The glass noodle with seafood and beef. Tried their barley brew tea.

The taste was rather unique. Its a little spicy. Just that the prawns are not so fresh. However, given the price, can't really complain. The barley is not so sweet and the taste is quite different from ours.

Probably will try other dishes if i happen to pass by again. (if i have the craving for korean food.)

Must tries: glass noodle with seafood and beef
