Old School Cool

Most Saturday mornings you'll find me queuing up here for my weekly carb fix. Great selection of buns and bread, and it's always fresh as they bake in small batches and turnover is high. My personal favourites are the curry bun, red bean anpan, otar bun and banana cake.

I get it know. Mostly long Q is not because its good or delicious. It's just dirt cheap. Where can you find 80 cts bun nowadays ? Bun is not as soft or warm as some would have reviewed. Rather bland. Tasteless. Tried butter bun, curry bun and luncheon meat bun Fillings were rather little . Can't complain since its 80 cents All 3 buns were sub standard. Curry potatoes were hard. Prefer softer. DJ Bakery serves much better curry buns. Softer. Nicer taste. Even if its $1.20

Serangoon Gardens Bakery and Confectionery is located in the Serangoon Gardens Market and Food Centre (store 45). Check out the photos: http://mrupupup.blogspot.sg/2012/07/serangoon-gardens-bakery-and.html

The bakery is the only shop selling bread and you can see the long line of customers. It is interesting that the bakery sells very traditional bread, unlike the modern breads found in shopping centres. Traditional breads like luncheon meat bread, ham and cheese, sambal bread, kaya bread, yam paste and many kinds. All the breads costs less than $1, pretty cheap. The bread are nice and warm which is important. Mrupupup bought the tuna bread and luncheon meat bread. All is nice for the breads!
