genuine people, great comfort food, good ambience

Came for my birthday celebration on Saturday evening, writing this as I finish my meal now. It has been so good I had to write a review immediately.

The staff deserves commendation for their genuine and excellent service!

The food here is generously portioned as well and tastes pretty good! 

Keep it up! 

One suggestion, how about complimentary dessert for birthday persons? :p can see this as the place for celebrations! :)

genuine people, great comfort food, good ambience

Came for my birthday celebration on Saturday evening, writing this as I finish my meal now. It has been so good I had to write a review immediately.

The staff deserves commendation for their genuine and excellent service!

The food here is generously portioned as well and tastes pretty good!

soft shell crab spageddies

For the full review and photos: celleout   I ordered the chef's special, black pepper soft shell crab with pasta in olive oil sauce. There was definitely a generous serving of ingredients! lots of crispy soft shell crab pieces, mustve been a few crabs in there, I had trouble finishing my food because there was so much of it, but it was so good! and the mushroom are really soft, squishy and it's got that nice strong wild mushroom taste i love, which went well with the pasta, cooked al dente,  just the way i love it! the tomato sauce was not that strong, although the flavor was very full, so the whole dish was REALLY yums. and the plate was bigger than my face! haha! very delicious! 10% discounts with uob!

yummy crab and pasta!

So for appetisers I had Mozzarella cheese sticks that were basically sticks of mozzarella, covered in batter and fried! come with salsa to dip! click here for pictures and the full review: celleout Surf and turf!  Steak and Crayfish, with pasta on the side, covered in creamy alfredo sauce. The crayfish was really sweet! =)   I ordered the chef's special, black pepper soft shell crab with pasta in olive oil sauce. Used to be better

So I went to the Tanglin outlet a few years ago and remenbered the food being awesome. So we decided to stop by again at the Orchard Central outlet to see how it was now.And we left a little disappointed. While the food was of relatively good price range, the food standard had dropped immensely. My dad used to talk about how awesome the Lamb Shank was last time, now it's just okay. The Lobster-Pasta mains were dry and overwhelmed with too much Garlic. Yes I LOVE GARLIC, but not to the point where i can't taste the rest of my mains. The pasta was also really dry. The roast chicken tasted fine and so did the Vegetarian Sizzler plate and Magherita Pizza. But really, you can't really go wrong with the Pizza.

The dessert was generally pretty decent as well. I think the best was the chocolate cake.

The staff seemed a bit lost though. Maybe it was the Saturday Evening Rush Hour.

Popped by last Friday for the first time during lunch-hour..

There were only two occupied tables, so yippee-yay, we managed to get a booth to ourselves. There were 3 of us, so we got the:

Three meats pizza: I personally felt the toppings were good but I preferred Pasta Fresca's crust; the boys went nuts over this though

Baked penne: Tomato-based sauce was so-so, pasta a little hard, & I had to add some chili flakes to give it a li'l kick

Spaghetti Bolognese (sp?): Sauce tasted like it was partially out-of-a-can; my least fave out of all 3 pastas we ordered

Something Carbonara: My fave so far! Loved the sauce, definitely ordering the next time we return

Service was so-so, staff seemed a bit blur and not too sure how to pronounce dish-names, prompt on topping up water though at least.

Best bit was that they had a UOB credit card promo; 15% off if I'm not wrong?
