Not just shiok chok, it is THE best porridge in the world!!!

I'm not sure if this stall was part of the original Tiong Bahru/Lim Leak market. It's so good that it usually sells out by 12pm on most days, especially the weekends. Amongst us, we've tried all the different kinds of porridge - my friends likes the raw fish, my husband likes the chicken porridge, and I absolutely LOVE the fish porridge.

I always order $3 fish porridge, no ginger, but I think the guy sells it also at $2+ ($2.50 maybe). It's really good stuff. The fish is very nicely marinated and the porridge is just so tasty. Mmmmm.

I believe the raw fish + porridge set is $3.50. Or something like that. It doesn't come with yew char kuay but there's a yew cha kuay stall just next door so you can just buy your own stick la. But personally, I prefer it on its own.

But just choose your seat wisely cos it can get very hot in Tiong Bahru market hor

Updated 28 Oct 07:
Went for breakfast there again. Just thought I would add that every mouthful had some absolutely delicious fish in it. That's what you call good value! The porridge is not too watery, not too starchy. Just the right texture. You have to try! Die die must try!!! Even when you buy it home, it still tastes fantastic

Updated 04 Nov 07 (as you can see, I have it every other weekend):
