| Creamy salmon sashimi!
Sushi Tei is very tasty: the sashimi was fresh and creamy, the dragon roll was delicious with brims of avocado, and the beef ramen soup broth and noodles were perfect for slurping. The ambience is great at every Sushi Tei, I would go again and again! Great place for a date too :) |

| Good for the stomach, good for the wallet
I must start with a disclaimer: I am not a fan of fine sushi. I don't mean that I can't appreciate or don't like the taste of it. I just can't enjoy it on my own dollar. The thought of paying $20 for a few slices of raw fish kinda takes all the pleasure out of eating. So if you're looking for a place to impress your date or Japanese visitor, keep moving along - nothing to see here.
Sushi Tei is the 3rd budget / conveyor belt sushi place I've tried in the last couple of months and I must say it is the best by a big margin. Fish was good - I would say above average. Service was good, although one order got messed up. The staff were very friendly and attentive. The appearance of the restaurant is a considerable step up from Genki or Yotei. Dark and almost kinda hip.
All in all a good choice if you need to satisfy your sushi craving and are not looking to break the bank. |

| Great consistency
Sushi Tei is one of my regular haunts, but I haven't been to the Paragon outlet before.
The food consistency is remarkable across its outlets. Sushi Tei is where I can always trust for reasonable quality Jap food for decent prices.
Had my usual favourites - assorted sashimi, salmon belly soup, and shared a new dish (meaning i've not tried before) with my friends - salmon in cream sauce... yummy!
Service was quite good. |

| 2nd to none for affordable Japanese food
This will be my top choice for affordable quality Japanese food.
What brings me back to this restaurant, apart from the great value that the JCB Sushi Tei card offers, is the great food at a reasonable price.
I love the Chawamushi. I love the Ebi Tempura. I love the Oyaku Don. And the Golden Roll. *Slurp*
Comparing the price and the quality that it offers, it's a great choice for casual Japanese dining! Paragon Sushi Tei is often less crowded than their Takashimaya outlet. It has a dimmer ambience which presents a more leisure mood for dining.
Service is just normal. During my last trip there, I was led to a seat and left alone for sometime, without my drink order taken. It was only when my neighbour seat was taken and his drink order served that the waitress realised that I was without a drink.
Sashimi is above average most of the time. The minority counts when Sashimi doesn't come out fresh, I'll take it as bad-chef-day!
Shishamo has room for improvement. They just throw you 2 scrawny fish with not much presentation to speak of.
Dobimushi is delicious most of the time too.
And I like to check out their seasonal promotions! |

| otoro on a budget
Went there on 11 Aug for lunch at about 2pm with my family. Got a table quite quickly although the place looked packed.
We ordered these:
1. Kimchi sushi (from the pre-summer menu)
2. Mini chicken katsu don
3. Mixed sushi platter (forgot what's the name but its the $18 one)
4. Mini tempura don
5. Mini salmon don
6. Yasai miso soup
The wasabi was good. I think Sushi Tei has the best wasabi as compared to the other conveyor belt sushi chain outlets.
My brother said the sushi rice was a tad too hard but I find it ok. The yasai miso soup was nice but the vegetables was a tad too hard. Those mini-dons are actually quite filling, so we had lots of rice that day! The chicken katsu don has the best flavour.
The mixed sushi platter contains assorted stuffs with all sorts of sushi like tako, ebi, hotate, salmon, tamago, mackerel, grouper and otoro. The otoro sushi (although it was a tad too thin at Sushi Tei!) was fatty, buttery and melt-in-your mouth kind as expected~ |
