Swensen's Great Dining Experience

The restaurant has a warm ambience with slightly dimmed lights. The chairs are comfy and the staff is very friendly when serving you. I tried the  Baked Spaghetti Bolognese with meatballs that cost $15.90 and was served piping hot in under 10 mins. The kind waitress reminded me that it was hot before i tucked into the warm, gooey red-sauce spaghetti that was covered with a layer of baked, slightly browned cheese. The dish was topped with 3 delicious meatballs that were juicy and tender. For dessert, I ordered a bannana split that was really yummy with the 3 ice cream flavours I had chosen: Butterscotch, Mango and Strawberry that was sandwiched between 2 banana halfs. The desser was topped with strawberries, nuts, whipped cream, maraschino cherries, chocolate sauce, hot fudge and strawberry sauce. Overall, it was a great dining experience and suitable for anyone looking for great food and who has a sweet tooth! The prices are resonable, the staff is courteous and the setting is comfortable. Perfect for a family ranging from young to old.

I have always liked Swensons, particularly the sengkang branch. Food used to be served promptly and I enjoyed their services. But, for past three weeks, I have tried to go for lunches and dinner on weekdays/weekends, and its almost always crowded and the queue is quite long - understandable as the food is not bad. The disappointing part was that, the waiter/waitresses never inform even when the tables get cleared. And when I went to ask for a table for two, and pointed at a free table with two chairs, they still asked me to wait and never got back. Quite sad, as this has happened 4 times now.

This place reminds me of diners in the US. The selection of burgers, steaks and pastas are quite OK. My favorites are salmon and cod steaks. The icecream is also not so bad. Love the pistachio flavor.

Service is quite OK too.

Have fun with food as foreplay, and these items are easily bought at supermarkets. Just be mindful of allergies (gas and rashes are no fun) and be prepared to sacrifice the sheets
