Swensen's has developed over the years to become a restaurant chain offering not only ice cream, but fun and friendly casual-dining with a wide selection of hearty food, desserts, beverages, ice cream cakes and takeaway novelties.
We had lunch last weekend, the service was prompt and portions were sizable. The basket chicken was juicy and came with big pieces. We had also ordered a pesto salmon but the size of the fillet was a little small than usual restaurant size. My friends ordered another kind like spaghetti, burgers, milkshake. my stomach makes bubbling noises when I smell all that nice aroma of food from other tables. All our food came at around the same time. I love it. Come and try.
swensens has been around in the market for many years and i remembered the first time i tried it was at liang court. they have been famous for their ice cream and the earthquake as it was a treat for birthday celebrations in the past. they were also famous for the fries but i feel that over the year the standards have dropped but maybe due to the fact that there are many other handmade ice creams and truffle fries.
Swensens is famous for its ice cream dessert and treats. I remember my younger days where literally swensen's ice cream cake is deemed as the cream of the crop (pun intended). However, over the years, it appears that the standard of their dessert is dropping. (But not yet to an extent where it is bad) Apart from dessert (where my favourite pick would be sticky chewy chocolate), they also offer a variety of set meals that include pastas, chicken and fish and many other western cuisine for guests to have a meal too. I feel that swensen's have evolved from a dessert place to a staple meal place though, which perhaps explain why their ice cream is dropping in standards. Go for their lunch; they have more offers in stow during lunch as compared to dinner
