Most helpful reviews for Taste of Thailand

Standard has dropped (hope the owner read)

I used to patronize them often, I can rate the food easily at 9/10 no probs. Recently the standard dropped. Seems they are trying to make more by using very low quality ingredients.

Ordered green vegi, could tell they bought the discarded ones with many black dots and black patches. Next the fish maw soup had a chemical taste.. yucks... Finally the pineapple rice had prawns that are rotten & small (like hei bi) I think it had to be pretty rotten because usually hei bi size is too small to smell bad.

I really hope the "real" owner is reading this, because his business is going downhill and I would really miss it if it closed down.

Best for value!

We can admit that it's not authentic Thai food but it's tasty, delicious and perfect for the budget conscious. The pineapple fried rice and the salted fish fried rice are equally good. The fried fish coupled with the hot dipping sauce is really good. They have a myriad of delectable dishes worth trying and I recommend everyone. You won't be dissatisfied!

Oh gosh, are the palates of the folks who eat at this place so poor that they actually dare call the food here Thai?? In no way do any of the dishes here bear any semblance to the cuisine that is so rich and colourful in flavours and presentation. This is local zhi zhar with some Thai names to their dishes to put it mildly. What a waste of time queuing up for nothing.

Taste of Thailand, not necessarily authentic but at least a taste of it.

Another one of the few places that I’ve been eating since young, this place sure has its history. From its original location at pre-renovated Sembawang Shopping Centre, it has moved to its current spot at the industrial estate nearby. First and foremost, one should not jump at the notion of getting authentic Thai food at this restaurant. The speciality dishes are influenced by the culture but the others are your typical Zi Char fare. But what sets this restaurant apart from your next door Zi Char stall are the quality of the food and the price. 5 girls, 5 dishes + 1 soup for less than 50 bucks. Good food does not necessarily come with a high cost.
