Buffet brunch in heritage room

Food/Drink 3 | Value 3 | Ambience 4 | Service 4

At $55++ or $78++ per person, you’re getting more than just a spread of finest dishes from all over the world; you’re also paying for dining in the heritage surrounds of this 1896-established room under which a tiger was supposedly chased in 1902. On Thursdays to Saturdays, tuck into a European-style lunch buffet or a seafood-themed dinner buffet spread of oysters, both featuring a selection of at least 15 mains and over 10 desserts, of which three are gluten-free. If Sundays are the designated brunch days, a more extravagant spread is available from $158++ per person: think pata negra ham, freshly pan-fried foie gras, fresh ravioli, black angus tomahawk, barbecued Iberico pork ribs, Maine lobster, and 48 cheeses from Ceneri - a shop on the French Riviera. The best Sunday Champagne Brunch you'll ever have in Singapore, at Bar and Billiard Raffles Hotel. Comes with a Live foie Gras Station, OMG.   Good selection of Oysters, carved meats and hams and free flow Billecarte-salmon Champagne.    A hefty price but definitely worth it as the service standards are absoultely world-class. Check out my blog for full review and pictures.

Raffles Hotel Brunch - Doesn't Disappoint.

First time at Raffles for Brunch, have eaten at many of their restaurants and was not disappointed.

Great selection of food compared to other brunches we attend regularly. Seefood selection was exceptional. Tapas style layout of cold meats was a nice touch.

Carvery was as always the last thing on my mind woth many other selections available but was enjoyable never the less.

My fav was the selection of pink or white billecart salmon champagne (slightly different price. Wines are also available and the staff informed us which to drink with what food selections, not something you get at a standard champagne brunch. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Billecart-Salmon

We have the Feed at Rafflse Membership which we got through our local bank credit card, well worth the money it cost as for two people the discount was 50% ($188++ per pax - free flow champagne less 50% FAR Discount), definately a regular visit to this venue but on the downside its a busy venue so getting an inside booking is not easy unless you book in advance.

Not bad.. but not great

I read some reviews recently about their seafood night and was keen to try. As such, we happily came to this restaurant. But seafood nights were only for thurs - sat. I went on a Wednesday soo.... no such luck.

Decor is ok not bad. Toilet has a musky smell to it - in need of renovation. Ok.. no one bother so much about the toilet. This is a food webby.. Shall move on..

Food - They have rib eye and rack of lamb which are yum! Love the lamb. Pretty good. Variety aren't a lot but some of the food were quite nice. They have beef cheeks as well. Soft and yummy. Prawns are rather big and fresh. I had 4 oyster. 2 were ok and 2 were not fresh!

Dessert - For chocolate lovers, the chocolate tart, ice cream and chocolate bits were pretty good. Other cakes were mediocre. Nothing to shout about.

Service is really good!!! We were choosing which wine to go for and they offered us some to taste before we decide. Plates were promptly removed. Napkins were folded each time I left the table. If a waiter is there when I get back, he will pull the seat for me and put the napkin on my lap. When you are onto dessert, they will come over and ask if you wanted coffee or tea to be served now. Good service I must say.

Overall is not bad since I have the feed at raffles card, there was a 50% off. But I guess I will not pay 75++ per pax for the meal if i do not have the feed at raffles card.

Nolstalgic Deco

Food/Drink N/A | Value 4 | Ambience 5 | Service 4

This restaurant is located at the preserved Raffles hotel and therefore, the interior of this restaurant is also preserved. They have the ceiling fans too, hahaha.

Now as for the food. Simply put it, as expected for any 5 stars hotel in Singapore. The spread is identical to The Line at Shang, The Oscars at Conrad and The Melt cafe at Mandarion Oriental. Come to realise that these places offers identical items on their buffet spread. Their meats corner is also located outdoor and freshly roasted. The quality of the ingredients is good, expected for the price you pay.

One plus point for this restaurant is its nolstalgic old world charm that exudes from its surrondings. It really feels good and different dining here. I would say if you get the correct seats, it can be pretty romantic.
