| Gladly have a scoop a day!
I have heard many good things about this ice cream parlour at sunset way before finally getting the chance to try it out. Have always been a fan of the local ice cream scene such as icekimo, island creamery etc
I have to say that in terms of taste and service, this place is at the top of my list!
Firstly, love the fact that they have a great variety of flavours to choose from and they are rotated daily so you can try something different each visit
Secondly, the ice cream taste amazing! Tried the macadamia nut, the chilli chocolate and the rum and raisin, and avocado ice cream. Especially love the chilli chocolate, the bitter taste of dark chocolate married with spicy undertones of chilli is mind-blowingly good. If you like the indonesian avocado drink, the utterly avocado is a must
Thirdly, the service is commendable. I wanted to get some wasabi mango which was unavailable on my previous visit, emailed them (they actually response promptly!!) and reserved a tub to be collected. Pleased to say that they left a tub under my name even though they were not selling that particular flavour that evening. Good to know they take their emails/comments seriously!
At the price of $9.50 per tub for 400ml, its slightly pricier than establishments like icekimo but I guess they make up for it with taste! :) |

| Mmmmmm...
I was on a mid-week binge and had my 2nd ice cream fix at Daily Scoop after trying Icekimo in the arvo.
Have been here once before but wasn't quite impressed the first visit. I reckon desserts should make you go mmmmmmm out loud and send shivers down your spine down to your toes on first bite. So didn't quite have the love at first bite experience here.
Plus the fact that the pungent smell of their durian ice cream permeates the interior the minute I stepped in. I'm not a durian fan so...
Quick scan of the counter for any interesting flavours and something drew me to the soft comforting green of the Avacado flavour. This is unusual as I'm usually on the look out for either something chocolatey or localised. Plus the fact that the Avocado ice cream was placed right next to the Durian flavour wasn't the most inviting for me.
Nonetheless, I asked for a taste and .... Mmmmmmmmmm.. (!!)
Am sold on a scoop and savoured every spoonful of the creamy, rich yet surprisingly light ice cream. One would think that the rich buttery Avocado would give rise to a rather heavily creamed texture but this is really palatable and didn't leave me feeling jelak. |

| Which Hole Have I Been Hiding In All This While?? Part (II) / This Won’t Stick to the Roof of your Mouth :p
Once again…the battle between the 2 tongues titles. Anyhows…
And so after dinner at a not-so nearby location, the sweet-tooths (hmm….sorry hijack this sentence a bit…Just wondering why it isn’t called “sweet-teeth”? >.< ) in us needed some mollification. Thus both if us were quick to jump on the bandwagon wagon and literally sped down here for our ice cream fix. Oh boy! Were we lucky! Coz we just managed to catch them at their closing tick.
Call me sua ku but I have the audacity to call myself a dessert queen when I haven’t in my *god-knows-where-you-have-been-hiding* life tried the ice cream here before. O_O At long last!
I chose the Chunky Peanut Butter ($2.90/ scoop) after a cursory taste-test. *Phoar!* Instantly B.O.U.G.H.T. :p
This peanut butter won't stick to the roof of your mouth. This peanut butter has got many lit’ chunky peanut butter bits *duhz* embedded within, it reminded so much of Breakfast. This peanut butter is so devilishly delicious. Oh…oh…peanut butter’s one of my many many weaknesses...It’s so yummy even jealous Little Miss Ixus also needed a lick. O_O (Disclaimer: This review might be screwed coz the reviewer has an abstruse infatuation with peanut butter. :) )
Daily Scoop’s ice cream vacillates between the milkiness of Island Creamery and the gelato-like creaminess of Tom’s Palette. I like this coz the richness of the peanut butter doesn’t intervene with the expression of flavor. I also like the ice cream here not only for their astounding variety, but of their point bringing dessert here closer to authenticity, unlike those new fangled ice cream parlors which endeavor to dress up their goods with whimsical deviant toppings like fanciful gummy bears (eew!) and kinda bueno (hur?) (please eat this on its own lol) that seem to be very superfluous. The hallmark of a good ice cream needn’t those extras to play up its flavor.
It’s a pity we were there near their closing so we could not witness their unique hand-churning method in action :( Heard it’s quite a spectacle by itself though. Some enterprising flavors that are really teasing and *beckoning!* include Butterscotch Pecan, Brandied Figs & Honey, Orange Marmalade, CHA (mua haha) and my all time favorite Vanilla :). Ermm…..other dubious characters ambitious ones like Lime & Black Pepper, Ginger Crumble and Lychee Martini need more convincing though.
I could still taste the smile of gratification to the last ounce of cholesterol when I left. This ice cream sure did leave an indelible mark impression on my blouse me too. :p
Daily Scoop? Hur? I think I’ll make mine daily ScoopS. :) |

| Can be stronger
mmm...been coming back to this ice cream plc for the past yr or 2??? anyway , their icecream is nice, n i love the small clean n neat setup. I also like it when I can see them make it, its like being served fresh icecream, just like fresh fish being turned to sashimi.
came again with my frens last wednesday, sad to say my fav durian favour is out of season (2-3mths wait) . Its a good thing though, as it shows the shop only uses the freshest of ingredients.
I had the butter scotch single scoop n my frens had nutellar choc, n butter scotch with freshly made waffle (15min wait).
I like my icecream strong, and find that it was weak, they could have added more butter scotch. It did remind me of the old butter scotch lolly i used to have as a child, so the taste is good , just weak. I also find it on the icy side , not as creamy as the durian I had 2mths back.
My fren likes the waffle, as its crisp (NOT HARD) outside ,soft inside
n hot from the pan too. No comments abt the choc as I forgot to ask for feedback, but notice my fren was quietly enjoying himself.
They both commented that they will be back with their kids n wifes. SO NICE....I will just be back with my doggie...my furry baby...8P
will upload photos next week, pls check out other reviewers photos for now. |

| Exotic flavours...wonderful enough to excite one's tastebuds!
Finally have a chance to check out the ice-cream at this place when I was in the west looking for desserts one night.
A small shop with only a few tables but always crowded with ice-cream fans, from adventurous ice-cream lovers to families with kids in tow. People come in to buy tubs of ice-cream, besides the usual single/double scoops.
Flavours are plentiful, from the usual common flavours like chocolate to the exotic ones like wasabi flavoured, chilli chocolate, lime and pepper, avocado, etc etc. Fear not if you are hesitant about buying exotic flavours. One can ask to test taste the ice-cream before purchase. :) No Questions asked.
Besides ice-cream, I had waffles too. mmm yummy! And guess what!? Whilst enjoying my ice-cream, I had the honour to see their ice-cream making process. Yes, the machine that they used to 'cook' their ice-cream is just at the counter.
Check out the photos I took of the ice-cream cooking process.
