Cheap and Good!

My two fave words for a eating place...well...i'm sure it's the two fave words for most of us =)

I chanced upon this place last year when my friend and I were rejected by other eating establishments at The Cathay. It was a good thing because we agreed it was a rare hidden gem of an eating place!

To me, a meal that is less than $15 (main meal and drink and maybe with desserts) is considered cheap considering esp the place is air-conditioned and on prime land.

The meals at The Indulge are very reasonably priced and I love the variety and that some of the dishes are pretty unique AND well presented. And taste wise, IS GOOD. Surprisingly yummy esp when one did not expect good food for that kind of price plus it was not crowded. (you know how we tend to think lines to a place must mean this place is good and empty restaurant means avoid!)

Service wise, not consistent. Visited the place at least five times now and the service is good sometimes, and non-existing other times.

I took a while to decide whether to review this place because, ONE, I want to keep the place as it is...NOT CROWDED. And TWO, for fears of getting popular and thus affecting the quality of the food.
But good food must share right? Besides, if not enough customers, close shop how?

Good value.

Been here about 3 times so far. The food tastes good, and is very value for money. I had the herb chicken with balsamic vinegar which was quite nice - would have preferred a strong vinegar taste though (but that's just me, cos I'm a real big fan of vinegar). My friend had the mushroom fusili with fried chicken which tastes quite nice (even though I don't like mushrooms and cream pasta in general) as well. At $8.90++ it's also really good value! Their menu is quite inventive and they do add new things to it often. The portions are generous. Service is great - the staff are efficient and attentive. Ambience is so-so. Altogether, a value for money choice that you should definitely consider if you are in the area.

Must Tries: No real must tries, but everything is quite good. The quality is fairly consistent

Lobster Pasta

This time, I returned to Indulge when I came to know about their latest promotion, the lobster pasta!

Its served in two different cooking method. I prefer the aglio olio style rather than the white wine method.

Its taste was nice but after 2 times, I had the enough feeling. However, i still think its really a good bargain.

Should try it out if you are looking for worth the price - lobster pasta.

will be back

We were at the cathay prior to a massage which was prior to a movie so we had to eat something. A few days ago my roommate sent me a review/advertorial for the Indulge which stated that the restaurant was celebrating its anniversary by offering lobster pasta at $13.80 so I thought we would give the Indulge a go and I would have that.

So anyway although the menu was extensive with everything rather decently priced, we both ended up having their special lobster pasta. This was the description:

Lobster pasta - choice of spaghetti or linguine, aglio olio or white wine style plus free ice tea of the day

The price of $13.80 included all taxes, so it really was a pretty good deal.

Anyway, I had the linguine aglio olio (the waiter said that the only difference really was that the aglio olio came with some cut chilli so it was spicier) and it was okay. Don’t expect a lot though - it was a pretty tiny lobster - my roommate postulates that what I had was a slipper lobster, which resembled the crayfish in size and in terms of the amount of meat it had. The dish just comes with pasta and the lobster. So there is nothing else. My partner had the linguine white wine style and he said it was okay.

It did not make for a very filling meal, but that was just as well because we had a massage appointment. The tea was actually too sweet - and I think it was peach. But like I said, $13.80 inclusive of taxes for the lobster pasta and the drink is a pretty good deal already.

Ambience wise - I don’t really see anything wrong with the wall in which they displayed pictures and what not. I did tell my partner what other people have said about the décor and we both think that this place has struggled to come this far. Which is commendable given the entire cathay and tenant and lack of customers fiasco. The restaurant is small, but you get the feeling that they do try their best to please their customers. Both our waiters were very polite and service was prompt. So we felt a little bad in that we were here just to rip off a good deal and we left a $5 tip.

I will be back because we didn’t get to try anything on their main menu and honestly, everything looks really cheap in their menu!

HEY GUYS , KEEP IT UP !

The last time i went to this restaurant was a few weeks ago . well the food there was great , especially for the lamb and rib eye .

Well , happen to walk past this restaunrant again with two of my good friends , as the LOBSTER PASTA attracted us . its very worth it for us having it . two of my friend have it as im allergic to it . so i stick with the rib eye instead. their drinks was also very good , i'll recomment this drink called INDULGE SPECIAL (a four layer of drink) heard from the staff that it was their signature drink . its great !

YEAH! while we were having our dinner . A very friendly and approachable chef walk out . well, you rarely or maybe hardly see a chef from the restaurant personally stepping out of the kitchen to interact with his customers isn't it ?
Or maybe they don't even step out of the kitchen . Goog looking Chef . =))

oh ya, the Service Crew was great , very attentive , very cheerful , they had a very warming smile . GREAT JOB !

THUMBS UP !!!!!

SADLY-the lady who host us the other time wasn't around . Heard from the staff that she is no longer working there , well, she is a friendly girl , she also provided the best service with a smile. but it's a pity . She can't serve us if we happen to go there again .

*****i saw the comment below, well i find the ambience of the restaurant was good , except for the lightling(spot light) its too bright . mayb the management could dim down the lighting or something and that will be perfect !******

Must Tries: Indulge Special , Rib eye , lobster pasta
