Pricey but absolutely worth it!

I came here to celebrate my first anniversary. For more details visit http://doriateo.blogspot.sg/2014/11/how-we-celebrated-our-first-anniversary.html I am very satsified with my experience here and would definitely come back here again.

The ambience of the whole place is perfect. It's an ideal setting for an intimate, quiet dinner. I heard that you can see fireworks from here during national day, but you'll probably have to reserve seats one year in advance.

The service staff here receive two thumbs up from me. Their service is efficient and fast. The food is served piping hot too. What's more, i received a complimentary chocolate cake because it was my anniversary!

The food here was of great quality. I opted for their signature antipasti platter ($29) and it's great that i had a variety of choices. Everything on their platter tasted fantastic, especially for their aged ham and smoked cheese. The thin beef slices were probably the best i have tasted as well.

For their mains, we had one of their specials for the month. We chose their crab meat pasta. I don't think you can get it off their menu anymore. We also chose their Deliza Al Tartufo, which consisted of mini ravioli with mascarpone and truffle stuffing. This is a (die die) must try! Although the serving size is small for $28, you won't regret it, especially if you're a truffle fan.

We coupled our meal with two glasses of moscato wine for $18 a glass. We weren't disappointed. The wine was of good quality and we were certainly impressed.

I will definitely be back here again!

Great ambience, good food

So glad that they have a truffle-themed course for the month of October 2014. It was good, the truffles were really fragrant. I think that the main dish needs slight improvement though. Overall we had a great experience at the Lighthouse.

Nice Food but Poor Service!!

For full review & photos, please visit: http://summerlovestoeat.blogspot.sg/2014/03/restaurant-week-dinner-at-lighthouse.html

My overall impression: I was surprised that the restaurant was really small and cramped. Service was not pro, in fact it was quite bad (Water was not refilled at all and some of the staff seemed inexperienced) They seemed to provide better service to foreigners from my observation. Only the food and view was nice! Nevertheless, it's still a good experience to dine once at Lighthouse (On Top of Fullerton Hotel) just to enjoy the food, ambience and stunning view. Will definitely NOT coming back here due to the poor service.

A very rushed Lunch at The Lighthouse

For full review and pictures, please visit : http://storyofoursummers.blogspot.sg/2012/11/the-lighthouse.html
Restaurant Week

Our reservation was at 230 but Lighthouse called me in the morning and told us the last order was at 2pm. So we tried our best to rush there but only got there around 215. Once we were seated, we were served immediately.

The whole meal felt really rushed. The starter came before the bread did.

1)Cappon Magro di pesci al basilico
Marinated seafood salad with crispy seasonal vegetable on cream bread and basil dressing

The taste of raw veggie and the sweetness of seafood is a good combination. Definitely a good way to start your meal.
2) Pici saltati in ragu'd'oca con le briciole e spinaci
Homemade pici in wine and spices braised duck ragout with wilted spinach and aromatic crumbs

Super filling main course! We could hardly finish everything. I supposed this dish is fine as a lunch item, but I would be disappointed if it came for a dinner course.
3) Brownie
Dessert was supposed to be classic Venetian styled tiramisu but we were served brownies instead. We were not informed that the dessert had been changed. Was looking forward to their tiramisu but the brownie was a good replacement. I like how it was subtly moist and chewy on the inside. Thats how I like my brownies to be. But still cant help but wonder how good their tiramisu would be.
We did not have a choice in any of the three courses. It'd be nice if they had offered a selection.
