I was pleasantly surprised when the food and service here lived up to the interesting name. Love that it's at Vivocity too. The mains are hearty and generously portioned and I'd love to revisit to try out the other things.
Had a smoked salmon salad with rocket leaves, pine nuts and berries (blueberries, raspberries and sliced strawberries) tossed with mirin. Very summery tasty salad.
Also tried the Orange-infused duck rillette with crusty bread. Humongous portion; either have this as a main, or be sure to share it as a starter. By the time you finish one of the bread sticks you're already half full, much less all 3 of them!
My main course: pan-seared snapper with chili crab sauce, risotto and fine beans. The fish was absolutely lovely! It was well-cooked so that the meat of the snapper did not become rough (as snapper is wont to do), but remained juicy, firm, succulent. Well-seasoned, and brimming with the sweetness of the fish and the smoky flavor of being seared over a roaring fire, every mouthful was a delight! The chilli crab sauce was also great - faintly spicy, and came with flakes of dried crab, perfect to swish the fish around in. The beans were crunchy. The risotto was bad though; porridgey, thick gooey and tasteless.
My friend had the risotto w mushrooms; she seemed to enjoy hers though.
We also enjoyed the 1 for 1 happy hour Bellini promotions.
