Typically crowded ..but worth it to get your green fix

Not everyone goes for the 3 "S"'s --> Soup - Salad - Sandwiches.
I have friends who balk at eating "huh - just bread ?!" for lunch.. but I'm a big fan of fresh greens!

Ambience: The outlet at Paragon is usually very crowded ..so it was a pleasant surprise for our party of 3 to find it only about 3/4 filled at ~ 2 pm on the Deepavali public holiday.

Food: Soup is consistently good. Serving size is generous and more than enough to fill you up .
Deep fried mushroom appetizer was not bad, it was certainly the 'least' healthy of all !
Ceasar Salad was good , I liked that the leaves were not TOO coated with dressing. My oriental-style chicken salad was satisfying - the mix of flavours was just nice.

This place seems to be a hangout spot for gay couples..The past 2 times I've been there , I always managed to spot at least 1 couple. Good for people-watching I guess...

greek salad come back

I was 5 months pregnant when I discovered soup spoon last nov and since we had just come to singapore and our kitchen was not yet functional. So I used to come to soup spoon at least once a week for a healthy dose of salads....and nutritious soups. I tried and loved and always had the greek salad. IT had lovely greens, tart feta cheese, a tangy dressing and currants and crisps....My daughter used to enjoy the tokyo chicken soup. But I was so disappointed to find they have discontinued it. I do hope that somebody reads this and rethinks this decision and brings it back. It is a truly delectable salad....

Must Tries: Tokyo chicken soup, pita bread

whats wrong with the soup?

I have been an ardent fan of the soup spoon, visiting an outlet at least once a week.
And my favourite pick from the menu would be the Tangy Tomato.
The pipping hot thick smooth soup added with black pepper is the best remedy for an upsetting event.

However of late (this month) every visit to the soupspoon have left me thoroughly disappointed. The once heavenly tangytomato is now thin in texture and is a pale orangeyellow in comaprison to its original orangey colour. The TANGYness is retained( maybe its the amount of pepper i add) but gone is the TOMATO):
somebody must go re-adjust the tomato:cream ratio):
i want my herbal remedyBACKKK!

Must Tries: tangy tomato, crusty pot pie

bad day?

Perhaps it was one of my bad days but when I went there the first time with my mom (and my mom's real picky), OUR SOuP WAS COLD? Hmmm... Repeated requests to do something about the soup was ignored (or rather acknowledged but never came)

But, I'll give them a second chance, (nice bread. so that'll be the saving grace.)

Please, next time gimme hot piping soup.

comfort food

tts the only way to describe the soups served up at soup spoon.

With a good amount of variety to boot, soup spoon has proved to really popular with the office crowd given tt is a healthier option to the other oil-laden and carbo over-flowing meals available ard.

no one wants to feel sleepy after lunch time whilst still in the office...

i had the velvety mushroom stragnoff whilst my bf topped up his meal by another $3.90 to get an extra half sandwich and a packet of chips. very very worth it if u ask me since it was not viable to order the full sandwich (i was blown away by the size of the sandwiches served.. they were huge!) the mushroom soup, as usual, was warm and chunky with the natural robust flavor of the mushrooms shining thru, the cream in the soup was not overpowering and was just enough to accentuate the natural woody flavor of the mushrooms. yum.. i cld use a bowl of soup everytime a mood swing hits me... hehe.

furthermore, service was extremely on the spot with waitresse helping the older folks move from seat to seat as they encountered a problem with a shaky table. despite the brisk and quick-nature of the eatery, it still gave a feeling of having time for oneself to chill out and relax and watch the world go by.

Must Tries: velvety mushroom stragnoff
