My friends and i had the set for indivdual comes with chocolate fondue, assortment of fruits (strawberries, grapes, honeydew, bananas), mashmellow, waffles and a scoop of ice cream.

The Belgian waffles were good! Sweet enough, crispy enough, addictive!
Even one of my friends who doesn't eat waffles agree and actually ate!
The fruits were plentiful too. Honeydew however doesn't seems to go along well with the chocolate.

Their ice cream flavors selection though only have 6 but it is enough to let you start scratching your hair.
The hazelnut, green tea, cheesecake, bananas all seemed very yummy.
In the end i picked banana flavor because their banana is make specially using real bananas flesh.

Personally I do not like the waffles made from buttermilk that are a dime-a-dozen everywhere else in Singapore, unless they have bite like the ones sold at this stall.

I liked the chewy dough and the sweet and crisp sugary coating works for sweet tooths like me. The texture and flavour are similar in some ways to kueh bolu. If you get the whole piece it may be too tall to bite confortably, so unless you want to take photographs, let them cut it up (they do so if you order the chocolate dip as well).

I haven't encountered speculoos-flavoured ice-cream elsewhere, and this one captures the gingerbread-like flavour nicely. It's smooth and not too creamy as well. If anyone knows where I can buy the actual biscuits in Singapore, please message me.

With prices starting at $1.80 it's more expensive than the staple Asian desserts sold at the other stalls in the hawker centre and the aforementioned buttermilk stuff, but ice-cream that's not from a sidecar rarely gets cheaper than this. It's worth the walk from Lavender MRT station if you want to try something different at least once (buses stop about 50m from the Army Market as well)

This is an unfortunate incident (not for Sweet Stone, but in general as a whole), why are people so vicious nowadays? Is it because of work pressure that they need an outlet to vent their frustrations?

This is a case of someone who went totally crazy by venting their anger at very minor things and then pick on things that are so small and then blowing it up, and worst still by maligning others for something that is not true. What is the motive? What is the objective?

There are many of us who can be the witness for this case. But I suppose that's not important now. As many of us know everyone has their side of the story and people will choose who and what story they like to know and hear.

But I am just pondering, what a world has it become?

Anyway, I have been with Sweet Stone since last year. Their service has been great from Golden Mile to Old Airport. The people there has always been friendly and very professional. No complains from me and our group of friends.

All I would say to the team, treat this as a lesson and grow stronger. Have confidence and you'll have our support.

I was the sweet stone located at the old airport road food centre after dinner today. Since this outlet was open, on Sunday evenings, my kids will request for ice-cream and waffles.
I order 2 waffles plus 1 scoop of ice-cream and was given another free scoop as I redeemed for "welcome gift" as it will expirying in a week time. Half-way thru the ice-cream, my 5yo son spotted a metal piece on the plastic spoon. I thank god for the fact that my boy spotted the metal piece before plcaing the spoon in his mouth. I am very afraid to think what would have happened to him if he had swallow that metal piece. I quickly bring the cup of ice-cream to show to the staff at the sweet stone. But to my shock, not only he refused to apologise, he denied the metal piece is from his ice-cream and claimed that his scoops are all plastic. He boldly challenge me to report this incident. I defintely will on Monday morning and I can't wait...So take note if you are buying their ice-cream, check before you put the spoon in your mouth!

With all these talk about how the foreign talent has invaded the food scene in our heartland, I had to check out this place after reading the reviews on HungryGoWhere.com.

After a morning of filming for a food TV program at the basement of the food court on new year's eve, I convinced my colleagues that we just had to try this place. I decided to order the most expensive set I could find to see what I could get to see what this hype was about

At about $4.20, we got a small 10cm diameter waffle with a nice accompanying chocolate fondue and a some Italian biscuit flavoured ice cream to go with it. They even had a member's program, which I thought was quite cute for this petite store.

Whilst most would argue that $4.20 could get you a full meal at the hawker centre, I thought that the price was not overly excessive given the quality of the belgian waffles which was nice and crunchy eaten warm and the deep rich taste of the chocolate fondue that came with it. The ice cream though was something to pass up on.

The other good thing about this place is that the desserts are not in large portions, so if your new year's resolution is not too eat too much chocolate, a set shared with a friend will not put you over the line.
