Waffles and ice-cream!
You don't come here if you want fancy. There are no waiters - the place is usually manned by 2 people at the counter at any one time; you get your own water in little plastic cups, and whatever you order will not come adorned with whipped cream and little strawberries by the side.
That being said, this is the place I think of if I want ice-cream and waffles. Sure, for waffles there is Waffletown - cheap and good! But they use cheap ice-cream too. If you want good ice-cream in addition to good waffles, and at a price tt won't burn a hole in your pocket - this is the place to come to.
My fave is the Waffle with 2 scoops of gelato, for $7.50. You get a giant waffle - freshly baked, browned and crispy (yup. you don't get soft, chewy or soggy) topped with 2 giant scoops of ice-cream. If you want 3 scoops, it's add another $2.00. Still reasonable, especially considering tt a lot of other dessert places are charging $12 and up for probably sub-standard or exceedingly ordinary waffles - right up to a place that charges $18.90 for 2 or three tiny "belgian waffles" that you don't really know what is so special about in the first place.
But I digress. Bottomline is that I've tried the ice-cream and waffles at a few places, and to date Venezia still does one of the best and most reasonably-priced combos ever. Oh, and besides the usualy dark chocolate or tartufo (yum!) favourite ice-cream flavours, if you're up to it, I strongly recommend durian. So rich, so creamy... my bf says it's even better that the real thing! Lol.
Must Tries: Waffles, with Tartufo, Gianduia, Durian, Lemon, Dark Chocolate

A romantic hidden find
What a wonderful place..Its my second time here and standards are still consistently good.
Soft, jazzy yet lively music playing in the background complements the brown, calm, modern feel of the restaurant. The pink, brown n clean themes exudes a romantic mood and this is the main factor why high school/ junior college couples n students frequently chill-out here. Somewhat quiet, Venezia provides the perfect mood for studying, doing work, and not to forget, tasting high-quality western, italian food and ice cream.
The soft, tangy texture of the seafood marinara spaghetti $7.50 allows u to slurp and digest it with just a few light bites. Effortlessly, a sumptuous mouthful of splendor is ingested. The black pepper tomato sauce drizzling with every twist of spaghetti is spicy yet fragrant and aromatic. Although it was a little too spicy for me, my friend found it appropriate. Appreciated the piping hot dish very much as it plays up the standards of the dish. The generous yet calculated fish bits, mussels and prawns are definitely fresh. Loved the succulent yet chewy prawns. Nothing to gripe about the display. Amazing that such a simple looking pasta was such flavourful and mouth-watering.
The homemade chicken pie was surprising creamy and piping hot inside. the slightly oily crust went well with the chicken, potato and other goodness packed within the big generous pie. At a mere $3.50, it is definitely worth a try.
Try the gelato ice creams for a healthy burst of flavour and oomph! $3.10 for 1 scoop, $5.20 for 3 scoops, $6+ for 3 scoops. Takeaway in tubs and it'll be all value for money and share the goodness with ur family!
Purchase and pay at the counter before they will bring it to u. Just a side point, felt that they should provide cleaner boiled water to drink at the side.
Kudos to a gelato restaurant that prides highly on its other dishes as well. Great consistent standards.

Yummy, reasonably-priced gelato close to home.
This is the ice-cream place that's closest to my home, so it's no wonder that I always pop by whenever I want a quick fix of ice-cream. It's $3.10 for 1 scoop and $4.20 for 2; add $0.50 for a waffle cone, and you notice that your scoop(s) of gelato also get bigger (they use a different scoop for the cone as compared to the cup).
My fave flavours are tartufo and dark chocolate. The latter is a blend of chocolate and hazelnut, which reminds me of Nutella; the latter is rich and sweet and dark. Divine! And on days when I want something more tangy, I go for the refreshing lemon or mango sorbets. Those are really good too.
This place has a whole range of gelato flavours to choose from. You will be spoilt for choice. But to be honest, a lot of them are hit and miss; sometimes you end up ordering a flavour that is either too sweet, or doesn't taste very much like the flavour you expected.
To be on the safe side, either order the fruit sorbets or the chocolate flavours. Those taste most authentic. And they'll definitely put a smile on your face.
If you're thinking of sitting down to enjoy your ice-cream, you can also go for the freshly-baked waffle with ice-cream, or the affrogato. They use Illy coffee, so both are worth a try too.
Must Tries: Tartufo, dark chocolate, belgian chocolate, lemon, mango alphonso, waffle with gelato.
