The food and service
19 Jan 2013I have ate at the resaurant a few times and i was happy with the service and food. This time, i ordered for takeaway and was surprised by the slow service they provided. There were few people at the store as it wasn't dining hour but they took an hour to prepare the food. But the wait was worth it because the snacks that i ordered are really good. i commented on their slow service and they were apologetic about it. I think this restaurant is woth a visit because the price isn't to expensive and the ambience is great. There was soft music playing in the background and the seats were very comfortable.
I also recommend this place for:
Girls Night Out, Quiet, Relaxed, Supper

Average Fare But Still a Good Place to Chill Out Late at Night
04 Jul 2012My last visit to its anchor outlet was at least five years ago and since then, there have been a LOT MORE Hong Kong Cafe style restaurants set up in Singapore.
To be honest, food offerings were plain normal although this would still be a great place for my ex schoolmates from Yishun Town Secondary to meet up and chill after dinner on Fridays.

Poor Service
08 Feb 2012As a regular of HKC, I was never left short-changed by its service. However, when I patronised the Xin Wang Hong Kong Cafe at Northporint Shopping Centre on 7th Feb 2012, I had the rudest shock of my life. It was the worst service experienced at any FNB establishment.
Firstly, no one attended to us despite the fact that less than half of the restaurant is full.
Secondly, the waitress was extremely unprofessional.
As a waitress, how is it acceptable to expect the customer to 'help' her serve the food? As a waitress, how is it possible that she can serve a dish and not know what it is?
How can she exclaim loudly 'i dont know what food is this, all humans need food right, this is human food'.
In addition, she keeps insisting 'Today is my first day what!' and when we are paying the bill, she added 'Never mind I pass the bill to my father!'
Exclaimations of 'I want to be Selena Gomez can?' and 'I really dont know what is this!' were added in between.
We were left perplexed with her eccentric behaviour. This is downright unacceptable as a consumer paying 10% service charge in an FNB establishment.
Thirdly, one of the service staff dressed in white blouse (whom I assume is the manager) was complaining to another diner regarding the lousy colleagues she has to mentor and snide remarks about her being able to tolerate 'problem' diners. This is being extremely unprofessional. How can one put trust in the FNB establishment when its own staff complains about their fellow colleagues and customers in front of other customers?
Please look into this matter.
