Wheres the salmon??

they squeeze us.. 6 person to a table.. the steamboat pot was so tiny.. if u sit at the steamboat end, theres no way u can reach the bbq plate and vice versa.. so 2 of us.. can never go get food .. 2 of us have to eat permanent steamboat and 2 of us have to eat permanent bbq...
salmon!!?? .. haha.. what salmon!!?? no sushi either.. only makis .. 2 or 3 type and cook food? chicken nuggets.. cold ..prob from the freezer..
meat is tough..and a bit smelly.. probably left over from yesterday..

yeah they come change foil often.. but what for? out bbq pit keep dying.. we have to call them twice to press and press the switch before it work and then it burnts/overheat then died again.. and again..

after reading so much good stuff about this restaurant and the tv show too.. i wonder what happen?? wheres the salmon????????

i went on a holiday.. hari raya haji.. extra charges.. lousy food!!!!

I love Steamboat!

I must say that my favorite steamboat among all that I tried..haha.. Because the soup is very fresh, tasty and sweet... so when you cooked your food in the soup..the taste of the food is enchanced.. haha..also, I love the bbq too.. totally different from the one I tried at marina bay ( which the quality of food is not as good I think).. haha... though the sushi is not fantastic..and limited variety... but I think the focus should be on the steamboat and bbq ba.. tried the ice ream too.. nthing special.. except you "make" it urself... I think we didnt do a good job..so the ice cream is quite awful ( no offence)..

Though there are time limit..around 2 hr plus, I remember last time I went, I am there for around 3hr plus.. in fact, dey dun chase the customer away..haha...

DO try this, if you love steamboat!

A great concept

This is a Japanese steamboat / teppanyaki place / icecream factory all you can eat buffet rolled into one.

There is sushi you can help yourself to as a starter. Unfortunately the sushi is low quality and hardly worth stuffing yourself for. The steamboat was Ok but I personally found the tom yam soup too spicy! The teppanyaki was fun but again most of the ingredients (meat / fish and vegetables) seemed low quality and not particularly fresh either. Finally when you have finished cooking your main course the waitress clears and puts the cooker into reverse quite literally. Instead of your hot plate you now have a freezing cold plate where you pour icecream mixture onto it and it gradually freezes. You need to keep scraping the plate to get the icecream to churn a little. Again the icecream isn't going to be Hagen Daz or Movenpick but you feel some satisfaction that it's been made right in front of your eyes. Taste - not bad. For certain it's a total gimmick: however strangely rather fun, nonetheless.

This restaurant is child friendly and they made a real effort with our children.

Lots of fun!

We went to Yuki Yaki tonight for a fun session. The food wasn't the main thing, it was just us friends getting together and breaking bread (figuratively) together. Yuki Yaki seemed fun.

I was supposed to do most of the cooking, however, it was so much fun cooking that another took over the cooking and we ate all of the stuff she cooked.

The cooked stuff was just like Seoul Garden or whatever steamboat buffet around, messy, oily, greasy, spattering fun.

However, the main thing was the ice-cream. It was fun, silly and exhausting.. and messy.

But it was really fun.

I'd go again if just for the ice-cream making.

Usual fare for Barbeque Steamboat
mmm... soon, there'll be ICE CREAM!
Lots of elbow grease needed to make good ice cream
Silliness abounds!
Yes.. four of us made and ate all that!

You scared of the oil popping and splattering on your hand when you cook?

Then scared no more! Hmm.. Maybe I give some background first. Yuki yaki is something like Seoul garden where you cook your food on your own. When I used to eat at Seoul Garden, the oil often splatter on my hand and it really makes me jump! But at Yuki Yaki, the oil don't splatter that much.

I love tender meat, do you? Anyway, the meat that they provide there are mostly chicken thigh meat so it's more tender compared to breast meat etc. They also have steamboat there so you can have some soup to drink as well.

I'm impressed with the overflowing barrel of red baby octopus served there! It's really overflowing when they just refilled it and you can take all you want! Compare this with the sushi restaurants where the premium plates only have a few octopus. And the taste of the red baby octopus are not bad so don't go thinking that it must really taste so stale that's why they give so much lah..

A great place to interact and have fun eating and cooking!
